Calling on computer experts that know about USB 3.0

Hi all,
I got my new computer about 85% done with internal external goodies hooked up. I got a new card reader that also has a couple of USB 3.0 ports but the cable that runs inside has no place to go. The MB is a newer Gigabyte board (X79-UP4) so it's got one 19 pin internal connector but that's it. It's got a smaller single connector to but that's also occupied. So since this is to power the USB 3.0 ports I'm hoping I'm not too far off track in assuming there must be some internal adapters that I can obtain that can do the job safely?? The cable is a 19 pin female. It did come with an adapter that turns it into a 9 pin USB 2.0 connector but those are all taken up as well on the MB. So wondering if there was an adapter that I can just hook into one of the fan pin ports on the MB or some other suggestion???
Thanks much
Richard

Having a hard time picturing what you want. Like this?

Edit: Oh, to a fan pin. I don't know about that, but I would think it's not possible :(
Def on the right track there. The male pins for the USB header are good but the USB 2.0 header is a no go. I don't have any more ports. I've just got a couple of 4 pins and one 3 pins, I've got a COM and a TPM. Also see two front panel MB headers too unoccupied. They have a similar connectivity as a SATA power connector with the tiny little "L" shape on the right side.
Hmm, just realized there is a internal USB 3.0 port on another expansion card. So what I would need is a 20 pin male to USB 3.0 regular plugin (as in the ones we use to connect devices externally. Not sure why this expansion card has an internal regular USB 3.0 port and not just the bare male pins? :-/
If you desperately need the USB 3.0 there is this: http://www.amazon.com/Silverstone-Tek-EC03B-P-Internal-Connector/sim/B0079XWPDQ/2
But here's what I would suggest since you already have the ports:
http://www.amazon.com/Female-20-Pin-Header-Adapter-Plated/dp/B005NJXAK0
Connect this to the internal female connector, then use this:
http://www.1000ftcables.com/usb-3.0-super-speed-3ft-usb-a-male-to-b-male-cable-black.html?gclid=CP2W65KQt7gCFUyZ4Aod2wEAYg to connect the female USB 3.0, and finally:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815124101
Plug the male USB 3 into the USB 3 PCIe card.
It sounds difficult, but the issue is that there is no way to convert usb 3.0 to a 4 pin lead.
Oh, there is an internal usb 3 port? perfect, just skip the PCIe card part and you're good.
yea, I have ANOTHER expansion card for the back of the computer with USB 3.0 ports (I have a few peripherals! lol ) but yes that card has the internal USB 3.0 port. I think it's male but it's flush on the board so that female adapter you showed me at Amazon is perfect except for that honking fat casing they have over the female USB header.
Would this work? http://www.amazon.com/Gino-Blue-Header-Adapter-Cable/dp/B00975UUEK/ref=pd_cp_pc_1
Hmmm, I think it would. The internal port is a female I think. It's the larger header where you can plug something into it.
Most likely it's to hookup front panel ports. On the tower I have now, my front panel 3.0 ports can be hooked up by either running to an on-board 3.0 header, or running a male 3.0 usb cord internally to a female 3.0 plugin, either internally or routed through holes externally.
You know you could just save yourself the headache and buy yourself a 3.0 external hub.
And just in case you weren't aware, 3.0 devices are backwards compatible with 2.0 slots.
You can't hookup a usb to a fan pin. Fan pins are designed to monitor fan speeds, power, etc. and regulate them.
RAM, what you linked will work fine. I have a new mobo for my haswell that has the usb port as well and it's definitely female.
Cool. Throwing it in the cart then! Thanks for the help! :-)

Thanks for the tips and info! :-)
Glad to help. Any time I can actually help someone on this forums makes me feel a little less guilty about making all of my "how to" posts >_>
