Hi guys,
I'm needing help with buying a laptop to do mainly video editing, with some light 3d graphics from time to time. I plan to use Lightworks and blender for video and blender and daz for 3d work, would really appreciate some advice. I have the choice of the two laptops below for basically the same price. My question is would the better features on the Asus outweigh the benefits of the Quadro graphic card in the Lenovo? And would the gtx770m be capable of handling editing HD video 1920 x 1080 and any 3d work with cycles in blender and Lux in daz. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

ASUS ROG G750JX Intel Haswell Core i7-4700HQ 3.2GHz 16GB 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD 17.3" FHD LED 1920x1080
GTX770M 3GB BluRayRW Win8 64bit 2yr 8Cell BT GLan HDMI USB3 Webcam WiFiN

Lenovo Thinkpad W530 15.6 Inch i7-3820QM 2.70Ghz 16GB RAM 500GB HDD Quadro K2000M 2GB Graphics Laptop with Windows 7 Pro

IMHO I'd go for the Asus ... looks to be a better processor, larger screen (you'll be glad of that!) and the gfx card better suited to GPU-based rendering if you ever decide to go that route (Octane, LuxRender in Hybrid mode, etc.).

Same here. Asus has the better spec
The Quadro is less powerfull than the GTX 770M. It's advantage relies on specific drivers for specific applications that can give better performance than a gaming card
Now if you plan on using the GPU very intensively, a Quadro may be better because it's frequency are lowered in order to get a better lifetime but you can do that yourself I think, to ensure that your notebook doesn't overheat

For video editing, most of the job is done by the CPU. So still Asus
If you want to do Video encoding with GPU it's far from good quality wise comparing to CPU encoding

I have the ASUS RoG Desktop Max 5 Gene, and I have to say its the best motherboard Ive ever had. It's bullet proof, and clocked to 4.4ghz out of the box. I recommend the RoG product line, although I have no specific experience with the laptop or Haswell.
