Please don't split the question between subject line and body - the subject line should give a reasonable idea of the thread content, but the body of the post should be complete in itself.
You can do that already with ctrl a or ctrl f (a aims but doesn't move the camera, f moves the camera to frame the target, or the whole scene if nothing is selected).
Is there a current keyboard reference (printable) somewhere?
If you are trying to move the object into view, rather than change the camera orientation to look at the current location of the object, this mCasual script might help.
