folders (actual folders) and files on the desktop use more resources than shortcuts.. not sure if in windows 7 or 8 if you can even put a folder or a file on the desktop anymore M$ has changed how all that works.

*edit, brain working faster than fingers, missed a few words.

Yep, pretty sure its all short cuts to user profile now.

So in windows 8 You cant save any files directly to desktop, all must be shortcuts? Thats different... Is it to stop people doing what I've done? Or they becoming ridiculously $$$ crazy, and you have to buy unlocks or something stupid! lol (I hate programs you buy that are like that... "Here buy our software... then buy all these unlocks so you can actually do all the things with the program, which was the initial reason you bought the damn software" XD

I'm running Win 8 and I have no problem saving a file to my desktop, I just saved a promo image as a .jpg on the desktop. What you can't do is save a file to the new Metro Start Screen though, that would have to be a shortcut to the file. That said, I don't recommend doing that since, as you've found, it has an impact on performance as well as making it hard to find anything.

A lot of people don't like the new Metro interface. I found that once I figured out that it was just a fancy start menu it works just fine for me. I spend most of my day in what they now call Desktop mode which is basically Win 7 but without the resource eating Aero Glass interface. If I need to launch an app I hit the Win key and either click on the icon if it's one I have pinned to the start screen or just start typing the name of the app. If I'm sitting in my office but not actually working on the computer I'll occasionally leave the start screen up so I can see updates from the live tiles for things like weather and Pandora.

Cold winter this year, lots of wind from the South Pole. Warm inside our house tho, central heating doing its thing. In a few months we'll be melting again

I guess the only way I can get CMS fixed is to restore the computer to factory setting and reinstall everything. I got to plan this out to make sure I will have everything I needed backed up first.

Frank Zappa wants his beer. debil tried to take his beer? i don't have the whole story facts ?? time to chase a bus.

I only know that Weasels ripped his flesh. Don't know anything about beer and devils...except that certain religions will have you think that they are related.

Even that will not work if the PC updates again and the updates Break the CMS again. Finding the Cause it's not working NOW is much better way to do it and LOADS less work. But still work for a PC savy user.

Vicky might have a fighting chance now, amazing! :bug:

    Wishlisted! :cheese:

    Dude that's old.

Try this one. It rocks. Especially on female characters. NO BOOB PLATE.

That's some serious looking armor, but Vicky is going to need breast reduction surgery to fit in it! :ahhh:

Breasts are soft tissue, so you'd want to dial 'em back or flattened (which si likely to do weird things to the mesh) anyway (decades of fantasy art notwithstanding, nipples will not push even leather armour out).

I just have this visual.. .. Vicky comes back from a long day of skeleton-crushing, takes off her armor, and with a loud *BANG* her boobs suddenly explode outwards! :bug: :ahhh:

It would make one heck of a hilarious animation, though! %-P
Would be more of a Tex Avery "Boi-oi-oing!" sound. :)

Complaint: Very crappy day, the worst part of which was having to kill 3 hours waiting for a prescription renewal on Metformin. When it finally came through it cost me $2.42. :blank:
The rest of the day was of the generally crappy variety.
Non-Complaint: I have $15 of Store Credit, for unexpectedly winning the "Best Non-Entry" (which wasn't even originally a category) in the DAZ Monster/Creature Contest a couple of days ago. The money came into my account today.
I apparently excel at producing Non-Entries.
