Pinochio is now Feltono. :) I wanted to do something fun with Felton and Ollie, this is the first picture of these two. The lighting didn't turn out right and I'm going to have to come back to work on it later, rendering is running sluggish on my computer. The first picture is not rendered and the second dark image is from rendering it in 3Delight. I tried Iray, but just got a black screen. Any ideas on what created that problem?
I love him, I have 0 use for him in my work so I can't justify the purchase, but he's adorable.
Having fun playing with Felton, but he does need a proper Feltna to light up his life.
Thanks, EJWorks. Your images looks nice.
Someone please make some vampire fangs up for this! And relevant styles of/shaders for hair! I want to create the puppet version of the titular character from 'Angel'!
And a female variation!

When I first saw this in a render, I swore it would be an insta-buy. And so it was!
That is hilarious Grinch!
I agree with all the comments about hoping that Joe makes a female version. Maybe name her Feltina! :D Please make it happen, Joe!!
Hair shaders?
Just knock down some of the transparency on existing hair? Make it less wispy, more clumpy.
Or some of the toon stuff from 3DU (after swapping the base figure identifier)?

I have to admit, that episode of Angel was the first thing I thought of when I saw Felton! lol
My wife just exclaimed, "Hey! I want to be a m..puppet! Do they have a girl one?"
For the record this is HUGE! She does not usually get involved in my rendering stuff, and certainly never shows envy over it! I know I can 'dress up' Felton, but it would really be cool to have his female counterpart. Just sayin'.
This one really knocked it out of the park for me!
I picked him up. I'm looking forward to doing some really silly renders. Thank you Joe for making Felton!
got him into Carrara so he can meet Alf!
Along with a female hope there is an animal or montser we can morph the heck out of! Love this guy.
Does anyone know where the Felton Nose morphs are? I can't seem to find them. They're not appearing under the nose morph section when shaping.
The mouth is crazy.
Something like Angel would require some morphs, I think.
Something like the Count from Sesame Street? Just a couple Cone primitives and a bone shader...
Thanks, I'm really happy with how that one turned out, had to learn how to do a geograft to turn Genesis into a puppet so I learned something new too. That was just a quick first Felton image, I have a vision for a more complete image in mind. This character is a blast. I don't usually do non-human stuff but I'm loving Felton. Psst, JoeQuck: "Feltina" would be an instant buy too.
I rarely buy products during their first week of release, but I happily bought Felton! A Muppet-like character fits right in with some of the Toyland/Christmastime renders I'm planning on doing later this year. I would have bought him just as fast if he were a standalone figure, but it's a nice bonus that he's a G8 character.
So, I finally got a chance to play with Felton. As a whole, really do like him. My biggest problem I noticed with him so far is that clothes do look a bit awkward on him a bit, and shoes really get wonky. I hope they release a smoothing agent for Felton or work on the bones, so clothes and shoes can fit a bit more naturally.
Here's a "pro tip" regarding clothes, two paths depending on whether or not the clothes already have smoothing.
1) Select the item of clothing
2) Check to see if it already has mesh smoothing (it will be under parameters, general, mesh smoothing).
3) if it does, make sure that smoothing is on,and the smoothing type is "base shape matching", then crank the smoothing iterations up to 25.
This should solve most issues. Occassionally you might have to go higher with iterations, occassionally the clothingwill fall apart or explode.
or, if the clothing doesn't already have smoothing added to it.
1) Select the item of clothing
2) right click the scene tab, edit/geometry/add smoothing modifier
3) then in your parameters tab, make sure that smoothing is on,and the smoothing type is "base shape matching", then crank the smoothing iterations up to 25.
Like before, this should solve most issues. Occassionally you might have to go higher with iterations, occassionally the clothingwill fall apart or explode.
After doing either of these, you can also bake the new morphs and then save them out so that you don't have to do it again.
Matching specific muppets might be a challenge due to the small number of puppet dials. You'd need a number of other head shapes to dial it in well... too bad Morpheus is Genesis 3.
I'd also add, on a purely hypothetical basis, the G8 Torso UV for the anatomical elements isn't a perfect fit due to the way the torso texture is laid out. So puppet peener would require a little more custom texture work. (Not that I admit to doing such work. One can only imagine the rug burn from such a thing.)
*cough* It might be time for an updated morpheus. Just sayin' ;)
One word. "
Genius!"
I got another new product today, Stack 'em and wanted to test it, what better way than with Felton!
Felton, honey, where ar't you!
I love it! I finally got to make a Muppet-style representation of myself and couldn't be happier! My wife got jealous and I had to do some tweaking to create her Muppet-likeness too. (Sure will be nice WHEN the female version comes out!)
Ha! That's Excellect.
Felton in Carrara
Here she is!! Feltina! ;-)
