I don't see any other posts about this here, but I just bought the Genesis Aging Morphs and installed them via the install manager. I can't figure out how to use it. I can't even find it in DAZ Studio. It said it was installed. I had a Genesis Character (Michael 5) selected, but I can't find where these morphs are. What am I doing wrong?

The presets should appear in Smart Content under Default > Shaping > Apply, or in the Content Library under DAZ Studio Formats > [libraryname] > Presets > Characters >Aging Morph Body Presets

You can also find it in the parameters tab under actor.

I'm not finding a Default category, and it's not showing up under the parameters Actor. I was confused about installing it, as it was a ZIP file. I used the install manager. I can't find where it went. Did I install it wrong? I've only gotten back into using DAZ Studio recently after not using it for a while. I've forgotten some of it and the latest upgrade is somewhat different.

The default install location DIM uses is not the same as the old DS default. Can you post these 2 screenshots:
    1) In DS, Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, expand the "DAZ Studio Formats" and "Poser Formats"
    2) In DIM, on Ready to Install tab check the "Show Details" box in the lower right

If you look at the path DIM is installing to, you need to either add that path in DS, or else have DIM install to one of the paths you have listed in DS.

Also, you should change the order of your DAZ Studio Format content folders -- having the first listed folder be in a protected folder (Program Files (x86)) is likely to cause problems.

This has just confused me even more. I guess my question is, where should this be installed? I've always let things just go wherever the installer defaults to. This item is different. It's in a ZIP file. Everything else has always been in something that just automatically installs without the use of the DIM. Is there a way I can manually place the files where they should go, and which would the proper folders?

Has anyone else had this problem with the aging morphs for Genesis? I've never had this problem in the past.

I'm so frustrated. I've tried everything, even tried changing to a different path to the DAZ Studio folder, and nothing works. I've paid $15 for these morphs, which I really want to use, but the ZIP file is a real problem. Why wasn't this created in the same installer as everything else I've bought at DAZ? Is this a 64 bit or 32 bit product? There's no documentation or readme file.

Am I just an idiot, or have others had the same problem with this product? Is there a way that I can manually place the files into the DAZ Studio directory? If so, what goes where? This is way too much work. I've always just used the regular DAZ installer for everything else and it just goes where it's supposed to.

I am sorry about your problem with DIM,, but anyway, your problem is not about the Genesis Aging Morphs.

it is because DIM need new empty Directory which you have not used to install ds contents,
Anyway,, about your case,,most simply way is,, not use DIM to install products at curernt.

you seems downloaded and installed the contents ZIP of Aging morphs by DIM to DIM new defualt directory,
so that you can once uninstall the products (which DIM installed) by DIM.

then , un-pack the downloaded zip (if you check option of the DIM, to delete zip when you installed)
you may need to dowonload the zip again, from your accounts to safe directory.
un-zip it by un-zip tool, it must show you "Content" root directory.

you simply all sub directories and folda under Content , copy and paste under "your ds defalt directory"
which you have located to daz installers. (Dim just worked as same but install to diffrent DIM default direcory )
we can not check which directory you have usde usually as DS contents for daz stuido4.6

    but the rule is,,
Root directory for daz contents = Content = default daz contents directory which installer located .( eg My library)

not need install "Content" directory under your daz contents directory. it means install root directory under root.

and not need to tweak directories in daz studio directory manager.keep the structure as same as before.

then if you will have time to re-arrange your contents structure for DIM
read DIM manuall and check you tube tutoriall by daz, throughly. ,and try DIM..
(but at current you need not, I think.. it take one day or more, I think)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6E4ft-bsPL0&list=UU38T95wHAxyCrOO6b1tD7Nw
(the last link seems best for you)

and DAZ must need to show the you tube link for DIM in more clear place. - -;)

Content is not 32bit or 64bit so that is not a issue. Where you put the Genesis Content is.

Unzip the File to a temp folder, inside it will be a CONTENT folder open it as well. Select ALL in that folder and COPY.

Now Browse to the SAME folder you installed Genesis Starter Essentials into, (for some that Is My Library) Open it so the Folders list.

Now PASTE with MERGE, (this is for any OS that does merge) Close all folders and OPEN DS.

Tip: Never install content with DS open and Running. It can/will cause errors.

The Install manager(which BTW I have stopped using for now) has a tendency to install your new content under a different folder than when you have your old default installations:your documents/Daz Studio/MyLibrary/people/etc.)

My best advice is to double check after launching install manager and check the directory where it lists your morphs. Most likely it will be different, like in the C:/ProgramFiles/DazStudio,instead on your default MyDocuments/Daz Studio directory. Once you locate that file from the listing of Install manager, copy it and paste it in the correct default directory:MyDocuments/DazStudio/myLibrary/etc.

I had most of my Genesis Staring pack disappearing from the window pane of Daz Studio 4.6! and had to load them from the Content Library,as they wouldn't show up in the Smart Content Library pane.
    Good Luck!

Thank you everyone for trying to help with the Genesis Aging Morphs. I finally got them to install. I copied the three folders inside the Content folder and just pasted them into my DAZ Studio folder. I don't know why I didn't just try that in the first place. Must have been a blonde moment.

Anyway, It's showing in DAZ Studio now and it works!

Thanks for your time and patience. I appreciate your help.

  • Feeling stupid. Have aging morphs in my Content Library under Michael4. Have Michael in Viewport. Trying to drag the aging morph onto Michael and nothing happens. How do I get the aging morph onto Michael?

I don't know what pack you're using, but for V4 and M4 morphs packs usually what you have in the content library is "INJ" poses that add the morph dial to the figure but don't set the morph value (and "REM" poses to remove the morph dial).

Contrary to the various Genesis figures, M4 and V4 don't load with all their morphs available, you need to "activate" those you want to use first, and that's what those "INJ" poses do.

Once you have injected the morph you need to select the figure (you might have to select the the right body part first if it's a partial morph), go into the parameter tab, find the new morph, and set the morph value to apply it.
