I'm really surprised that there is no pug dog in the DAZ store.
Maybe with DAZ Dog8 the time is come to bring finally a pug dog in the store?

How different is that from the French Bulldog for Daz Dog 8?
There was a cute pug that used to be on rendo for a while called Mr. Puggles. Ah, Meshbox has it on content paradise now. Its a bit dated but still cute: https://www.contentparadise.com/ProductDetails?id=25037
Yeah I know that the french bulldog looks similar. I'm hoping for a french bulldog "pug dog add-on".
I do expect to see a Rottweiler or a Beagle in the stores. And i'll bet Poodles will come with hundreds of hairstyles and colors...
It seems there are technical difficulties with the pug,
especially when dForce is used.

I got Puggles with a "birthday coupon" CP offered but was shocked to learn the purchase did not come with even the most basic poses! Thankfully, "Grandma T" offers a nice collection for free at ShareCG...

Aww so cute. That’s odd. Mine came with a few poses. I really like your render. They managed to capture the sweet pug face with the model. Thanks for the pose link ... those are excellent. There is a pose set on rendo that was discontinued but it included the cutest poses and expressions. Another thing I noticed in the base package( and revealed in the promo renders) were that the teeth, particularly the "canines" were thick and rounded, looking more like "kernals" of "candy corn". After examining the files, I dicovered the inner mouth and teeth were assigned to a global material zone. That zone, by default had a bit of displacement to help accentuate the wrinkle in the face. But because that MAT setting used the base color diffuse texture for the displacement channel, the light color of the teeth made them swell into blunt "pegs". I cloned the base texture and basically "blacked out" the region of the inner mouth and teeth. Then I plugged that image map into the displacement channel. the teeth rendered as nicely pointed as they should have been.
Your package had a few base poses? If you got Puggles from Rendo', maybe that was a slightly updated release from the one I bought at CP.

Huh. I shall have to give my mr, puggles dental surgery too.
I think I bought him at meshbox before it was absorbed into content paradise. I will see what the poses are. I think there were like only a few if I recall.

Kinda' looks like he made of marshmellow and then got his muzzle a lil' too close to a fire. (At his size, it would have to be a raging house fire instead of a a campfire!)

With pugs, a big issue with promoting them is that these dogs cannot breathe properly. Hence why they snort and wheeze so much.
If the Dog8 pugs would have a breathable snout, then absolutely.
That's why I have two puggles! It's a pug/beagle hybrid. I get all the cute wrinkles and curly tails, but their snouts are longer and they don't have the breating problems that come with a flat nose. PS. Hoping for both a pug and beagle for DAZ 8 Dog.
I'd love to have a Boston Terrier. I know it's close to the french bully, but still not exactly the same. There was a free one some years ago, but it would be amazing to have one with the actual dog8 possibilities.

Hah, I know right? I have three of them, and they are legit like living cartoon characters. (My super senior, Rocky, has a pushed out-enough nose so he hasn't ever had any breathing problems. But he's got big toony teddy bear eyes, hehe)
And yeah, while I would prefer a more realistic-looking pug for Dog 8, the Toon Pug is good for now. My only complaint to 3D-Universe, though...

I'd also love to get a Pug for Daz Dog 8. Honestly, it's why I haven't purchased Daz Dog 8 yet. I spend a lot of render time with a pug in my lap. The toon pug is cute for sure, but would look a bit out of place in any render involving more realistic models. Though I'm thinking of getting it to use with Ghastly's Lola Hai character.
Anyone try using shaders on the toon pug? Maybe we can get partway there, and with a little morphing?
While there is an expression Tongue Out 1 and 2, if you scroll down, later there is only tongue left-right but no tongue in-out. How is one to pose the tongue outside of using the provided expression?
