Rigging Help

I know I asked this back when I had Daz2, but can't remember what I was told and things could have changed with the newer versions. I want to see the rigging of clothes, footwear and hair so I can get an idea of how others do this for their products that could help me figure out how best to go about my own. Is there still a way to do this in Daz, I have version 4.5

In the Parameters pane, there is an option called Display, Show Bones is off by default, when you turn it on, you will see the rigging, is that what you mean?
I just checked and yes that was what I was looking for...thank you.
If you want just a quick peek at the bones you can activate the joint editor tool. If "Show Bones" is set to off the bones will still display if the joint editor tool is activated. Just another way to skin the rat I guess.
Thanks I will remember that. What I did learn from looking at the bone structure of skirts, pants and hair is there is no stick in the mud must follow way to do it, other then skirts and pants will need the stomach, hip and leg bones, but others are pretty much where you think they will do the most good. Bones for hair I will have to investigate further.
Which type of rigging? Poser legacy rigging or DAZ Triax?
Any rigging. I want to see how the rigging is done is some of the content I own, free and paid for, so I have an idea of how to rig certain items as I make them.
What figure do you want to make items for? The reason I ask is that the rigging for Gen 4 and below is much different from Genesis.
Gen 4 and below use what is now generally referred to as legacy Poser rigging. Genesis and above uses DS Triax weight map rigging. Poser 7 and below has the legacy rigging. P8/Pro 2010 have both the legacy rigging and the joint encapsulation rigging. P9 and above gives Poser legacy, joint encap rigging and weight mapping.
Probably the best reference for legacy rigging is still The Secrets of Figure Creation by BL Render.
Since I don't generally use either Genesis or DS, I have little knowledge of DAZ Triax rigging. I am still experimenting with WM in Poser.
I want anything I make to be useable with Gen4 series and Genesis1...don't really like Genesis2, and to be useable in both Daz and Poser. With that said, I have Poser6 and Daz 4.5, now I know how Poser and Daz are doing things these days and quite frankly in this economy it's ridiculous. I do not want to limit my customer list based on which version of a program they have. I do not believe in exclusivity where a customer has to have the latest model and/or program. After a lot of thought I decided to make such things for Gen4 series and with auto fit, will also work in Genesis1, my big problem is I don't use Poser so have yet to figure out how to use Daz to make an item useable in Poser without the DSON plugin. I keep asking how to use 4.5 to save in a format useable in Poser and have yet to get a straight answer or only get answers on how to save in the Daz format. The only thing I know for sure is that PFE will save poses, but don't know if it also saves morphs, and CPM for textures useable in both Daz and Poser, but have never used this program. As for WM, I haven't a clue on that one other then it exists.
I experimented with the Figure Setup Tools for DS3A years ago. Even though many stated they were easier to use, I never found them any easier or harder than Poser but then I've been rigging since the days of P3 so that's neither here nor there.
I don't know what's changed and what hasn't since the first DS rigging tools. I don't have time tonight but I will see what compares to what tomorrow.
DAZ created video tutorials for DS4. Have you searched the knowledge base to see if they give a link to the DS4 CCT's? The only other rigging links I can give you are for Poser. Sorry, I can't give you better answers sooner.
I wish to heck DAZ would get with the program and put out a darned User's Manual.
