New Standalone Male Figure Early Production Peek

Hi Guys,
Just wanted to release this early production render of what is in the works in the next few months, a new male figure called Baden Brawn. This figure is hi-res at 112K polys, with plenty of scope for some cool morphable details, he'll be available for both DAZ Studio and Poser. I'm intending to initially release him as a muscle bound superhero to be included in my Heroes range, that already includes Redantom. There will also be available a base figure which is pretty much what you see here, obviously including textures and morphs etc. There are plans afoot to develop other character/clothing sets off of this figure. Anyway just wanted to keep you informed at what's in the pipeline. I'll be interested in any feedback, also if anybody would be interested in creating some support products.
I am producing plenty of WIP images as I go and updating my blog at www.predatron.co.uk/blog.
Hope you like him, can't wait to finish this so I can start using him myself.

Looks like DAWN will not be alone in her release then. Hope it sorta syncs with hers since the old way of always releasing the female mesh first is kinda not fair. Looking forward to seeing him in DAZ Studio.

Weight mapped or old fashioned rigging?

I'm definitely doing weight maps, but I have started out with the original way of building a rig, I just find it easier to start that way rather than creating weight maps from scratch. So I should have 3 versions, one older style and 2 weight mapped versions for DAZ Studio and Poser. I was contemplating just DSON, but I want to make sure this figure is supporting both programs.

Hopefully should have more news and renders very soon.

I like the look of this. Will he be a free or commercial character? Also, will he come with complete anatomical details (such as a toast and a fire exit), or will he have Ken Doll anatomy like most other figures?

Also, what range of characters will he support? So far I get the impression that he's intended only for muscular/brawny characters.

WOW... great info there, thanks! So the other question is ...

Is he welded like current DAZ figures or in a bunch of pieces like Generation 4 figures?? If it's the former I will want to take him into ZBrush and remake him into something "Bruno-ish" (my own set of morphs for Genesis and Genesis 02)

At the moment he's configured with the older style of mesh and CR2, but I will be updating to take advantage of the new features in DAZ Studio and Poser. Still in development stage so these things take time to do and also get to a point where I can give a definitive list of available features.
I'll certainly release details of new features and work in progress as soon as they become available.

This is a commercial figure. At the moment he's like most of the figures, but that can always be fixed with conforming items. Still mulling that over whether to include it or not.

There will be a host of morphs to change body shape, so he'll be less brawny. I'll post more when these are done.

Here's a few more work in progress images. Still lots to do, but it's all going really well. The clothing set is one of a several that should be available on first release.

I'm def. buying. I buy all male content, and if it is by Predatron I know the quality will be good. Can't wait to see the slender less buff version.

I decided to trim down Baden a little for the default shape and keep the previous shape as a morph. I've also added a beefed up morph too. Lots going on with various stages of this, refining the joints, JCM morphs, textures, clothes, props and countless other tasks as well. But I'm please how things are shaping up

Like the new base shape allot. The Massive and Ultra morphs are fabulously manly! lol Are there any controls to taper in the bulge on the neck though? I'm not a fan of over sized necks that blend into the traps.

Glad to know that Pred. So you have a price and sale price thought up as of yet or too soon?

Usually figure that kind of thing once everything has been completed, so no not yet.

It certainly is an exercise in multi-tasking trying to get Baden finished off. Here's a quick render of a texture in development and the sub-surface scattering set-up in Poser Pro 2014. I reckon this is starting to look good.

Nice skin for sure. Glad you did nice big eyebrows for him too. I HATE some of these skins with these perfectly skinny shaped brows. YUK!

  • I know this is ancient news...did he get a release? I stumbled in here looking for your newest stand alone figure...
