System Requirments for iMac computer -- Am I missing something? Please help
The rendering process takes forever and the final result doesn't look good. Perhaps I'm missing something for Daz Studio to work properly. Any ideas or suggestions? I'd appreciate a lot. Thanks

Which render engine are you using, sounds like Iray.
Iray does just that unless you have nVidia graphics cards with loads of VRAM.
In the Render Settings Tab you can change between Iray and 3Delight. Iray is much more time consuming but the results are often better, in the meaning of more realistic, whicle 3DL is faster. You can get the same results from, 3Delight as from Iray, almost, bu using GI mode, but then it's about 50 times slower than Iray.
The next thing is Render settings, a CPU Iray render for me (running OS X in odl 2012 Mac Pro with 6 QuadCore 2.6GHz Xeons at 1600 x 900 pixels takes about 4-8 hours, minimum.
You need to tell Iray how long time it can run in seconds and also set the quality up, or you render art a much bigger size and then scale down, also works,
Your iMac can't tage advantage of the GPU rendering features of Iray - for that you'd need a reasonably powerful NVidia graphics card, and Apple doesn't support that, except via an (expensive) external GPU card frame. So you'll most likely be rendering in the much slower CPU mode.
As Totte said above, you'll need to adjust your render settings to take account of the longer render times. By default Iray stops after 2 hours (7200 seconds). My old 2012 i5 iMac can take 12-24 hours to render an image that tales less than an hour on my 1080TI equipped PC in GPU mode.
