Hello all. I just purchased Genesis 8 for Maya which says it can be installed with DAZ Install Manager, but it does not show up when I open Install manager. Manual download works, but it is a mix of DAZ and Maya "parts" with no instructions about what goes where. Has anyone gotten this to install properly?
Thanks!

Hi,
Sorry for the delayed response, I just now stumbled upon this post. I was trying to keep a lookup for threads of this nature too.
To install manually download extract the files to the following locations:
\DAZ Studio_4.5;4.x Public Build;4.x Private Build\scripts\support\LayLo3D\Genesis8ForMaya
Goes into:
C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\scripts\support\LayLo3D\Genesis8ForMaya
\UserDocs\Autodesk\maya\plug-ins
Goes into:
{your username}\Documents\maya\plug-ins
\AppData\DAZ 3D\Studio4\RunOnce
You should be able to double click and they will open Daz Studio (if it’s not open) and set up the scripts inside the script menu so they can be ran from Daz Studio. You can also drag them from the folder onto the Daz Studio window and it should execute them as well.
\SharedDocs
is the same as what’s in the UserDocs, there’s just a little bit of a folder structure difference with Mac OS
\Users\Shared\Autodesk\maya\{version}\plug-ins
I also updated the manual with this info as well. I'm in the process of making it more thorough.
Let me know if you have any other questions and thanks for your support!
Thanks! And no problem on the delay,
I have been on vacation the last 10 days and just got back, so even if you replied earlier I wouldn't have seen it until today. So actually it was perfect timing!
Are there any conflicts with having DazToMaya installed at the same time?
No, they can both safely be installed at the same time. I also set my plug-in up in such a way you can still use DazToMaya's shader conversion tool as my plug-in doesn't do any shader conversion.
For more information on how, please refer to the Genesis 8 for Maya manual:

When I go to the G8 For Maya Tab and select import ( base character or other) the same things happens , the charcter comes in but nothing is hooked up no ik etc..
and the dialog box does not open , I have attached a image..

hi it doesnt say if this is compatible with maya 2019. i get g8 for maya in my menu but when i import its stays on importing please wait for ever I have let a response on your web site but no reply. if thsi doesnt work on maya 2019 i want my money back
For Maya you have to activate the plug-in in the dedicated menu for it to show in the menus
I am on Mac with Daz 4.11 and was unable to have the script activated in Daz3D. When I clic on the 3 files in Runonce, nothing happens.
Is there a different way to install it, because it's very tedious to have to go to the content library to activate the supports scripts manualy
just got this plugin with recommendation from some mysterious dude messaging me to get this, unfortunately it cant be found inside daz install manager. help
Edit: ok found all the instructions and videos at laylo3d website. Working as intended.
