I've had a lot of previous posts about lighting (http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/19877/) and I've finally found a simple lighting system that works really great. In most of my comic panels, I now use just one light (a spotlight) that is raytraced.
If you look at the panel below (from my Max Rogers comic), I'm using just two spotlights. In the bottom picture, I show you the camera angle used for the main light. I move the light far enough away from the character (Cleo) so that the brightest part can cover the entire scene. I'm also using a second light behind the character and shining it on the back wall in order to soften the shadows.
