Has ANYONE converted Gen 2 morphs to Gen 3 using Genx?

1) can't find manual - probably doesn't exist and READ ME document is a variation of the product info.
2) Can't find tutorial - even the guy in the tutorial is asking if anyone knows how to transfer the G2 morphs to make g3 figures. (sheesh!)
3) Steps for transferring V4 are not the same. (apparently Genesis 2 has no INJ File to drag and drop into the Gen-X tab.
4) I tried save as a shape preset and also dragged every file from every content place imaginable.
5) All the threads get real confusing as there is cross-talk between different versions of this product.
Anyone get this to work?
What are the initial steps and set up before transfer?

yes, I've done this. Genx does this very well. Burried in one of the Gex2 posts is information that you have to use the G3 *clone* for the conversion to work.
How do I get the Genesis 2 morphs into GenX to transfer them?
You will need the following products
https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-generation-x2
https://www.daz3d.com/genx2-addon-for-genesis-2
https://www.daz3d.com/genx2-addon-for-genesis-3
Setup (I assume that you have done this bit but have included for newbies)
In DAZ Studio click on the Help Tab, then click on About Installed Plugins
In the About Installed Plugins pop-up, scroll down and make sure Genesis Generation X2 is ticked and has the green Loaded Status
Click on the Window Tab, click on Panes (Tabs), then make sure GenX is selected
Transferring the morph (Part A)
1. Select your Genesis 2 figure and load it
2. Select and dial in the morphs you want to transfer in the Parameters Tab
3. In your GenX Tab, click on the Source button
4. Select your Genesis 2 figure (note depending on how many morphs the figure has this could take a little while)
Transferring the morph (Part B)
5a Make sure your Genesis figure is selected
5b Once the values are transferred from the Figure in the Scene (Step 9) you will need to locate the morphs (Step 10)
6 Select your Target figure, Genesis 3
7 Select Create a single morph (check out the other options if you need them.
8 Click on the Select button
9 Click on Get Values from Figure in Scene
10 First of all you will need to find which Morph to look in, I normally start with Actor. Look down the Morph list to find the name of the morph you dialled in, it should have a non-zero figure in the Value list. Tick the morph when you find it.
11a Click on the Transfer button
11b If all is okay you should get two pop-ups, one telling you Finished. Applying morphs to target. Second pop-up is the Morph Properties, enter name for your new morph.
12 Select which region the morph is being applied to. Click on the down pointing arrow for options.
13 If you have an icon, click on File to locate it.
14 Adjust the Value range if required
15 Click on Accept
Morph check
16 Load your Genesis 3 figure
17 In the Parameters Tab locate the Generation X morph for the region you have morphed
18 Dial in the morph
@Bunyip02 No way you just did that. Finally a thread that when searched, will solve the OP problem.
Bless you, kind sir or madam.
Thanks for this! I've been having trouble with the GenX plugin too

Many thanks for this!
thanks for the tutorial :D
great tutorial...much clearer and easier to follow than the original collection of docs and help posts.
thank you very much for this, bunyip02. :)

Noting for later. Thank you!
Thanks for the tutorial
Sorry to drag up an old thread, I gorged myself on G2 figures at one of the last sales and al also grabbed Riversoft's Character Converter from G2 to G8. I wasn't really happy with the results so decided to try GenX 2 and the plug-ins to see if I could get more accurate G3 figures. My preference is to transfer to G3 anyway but was initially wary about buying 3 pieces of software that are no longer able to be supported.
Even following the work-flow above I can't get it to work. The base G2 figure for G3 works OK but the character morphs just give me sliders that do nothing or very little. I'm making sure the morphs I'm selecting have a value attached. I've also tried the other method where you drag the character morphs into the window and have tried using the 'Transfer on for all non-zero values' only to get the same result.
Also, the program requests or finds the character icon but the morph sliders never show it, in case that is relevant.
Another thng is the software is not assigning a morph transfer value to many of the characters so even if I can get it to work, how do I transfer those?
I'm stumped! Any help would be much appreciated.
I had a lot of trouble GenX2 as well, where it just would not transfer morphs or "see" them. It was like the morph was not even there. A possible work around is to bake the morphs that you want into a new morph and save this as your own morph, and GenX may be able to find this one. Use the Hexagon bridge to send your character Hexagon. Before you send that character back to Daz, remove these morphs. You can also reset the character shape, but make sure to keep the default Genesis 2 morphs on (I forget which ones, it is just a couple, like the belly button.) Then send the figure back to Daz, if you are using the bridge, the box should pop up automatically. Select create a new morph. Expand the options to give the morph a unique name (this is to avoid the dreaded 'duplicate errors').
Set Reverse Deformations to on. You can also set the morph location. Place it in a logical place, like Actor>Full Body or something. You need to remember this exact path. Click accept and now the morph will show up in the Parameters tab. It will not show up in the shaping tab yet until you save it. “File > Save As > Support Assets > Morph Assets”
You will see a list of boxes, click the little triangles to open the path to where your morph is located. Only check the box with your morph name. You will see a few check boxes in the tree to your morph also become checked when you do this. Click ok and now you have a morph.
Optionally, before saving the morph, you can Adjust Rigging to Shape. Then do a ERC Freeze. Then save the morph. This can help your morph pose better by adjusting the bones.
Once this is all done, now you can try using GenX2 to convert the new morph you made. Hopefully it will work.
However, I depending on what your morph is, I don't know how happy you will be. The results can be mixed just like the Riversoft product. Though I do think GenX is slightly more accurate overall.
There is one other way, but it requires some decent money for a 3rd party software and learning how to use it (there is a real learning curve). This method however is like Fight Club, it is something we cannot discuss here. If you are not comfortable working on 3D meshes on other software then you probably want to avoid that anyway.
Thanks... You just gave me the perfect reason to remove some items from the wishlist.
Thank you Outrider, I think I would rather just keep using the Riversoft converter and have 'inspired by' characters with less work! I don't like to return purchases and have so far avoided doing so but if there isn't a way to make GenX work then it's pointless me owning it. I have another computer running 4.15 and tried installing GenX on that and it won't even show up as a plug-in...
