That is one awesome Slave 1, beautiful.
Hi guys, has been a while since I posted on here last. That Pirate Snub Fighter I was working on is coming on though. With the 3D Print version all done and dusted, it's all been about the CGI version. Daz3D version next.

Looking nice H!

Yeah, I heard the news, a sad, sad day. We just lost an absolute legend. R.I.P. James.
Thanks Unusualsuspex. It's taken a while to get here, but I'm more than happy with the final results.

Another nice one
Hi again guys, finally taking steps to get the Pirate Snub Fighter into Daz, can't believe how long it has been since I last used Daz, with one thing or another. Anyhow first steps in this case involved getting that X-Wing pilot clothing sorted, and then getting that pilot back into 3DS Max so I can get the scale all sorted before importing it into Daz. Got the figure working all nice in Daz, and was looking forward to getting it over to Max for some nice shots with the ship, as well as sorting out the scale, but on using Bridges to Max, that doesn't seem to have worked, and manually exporting the figure as an FBX has only partially worked. Everything exported okay, but the clothes are detached from the figure, and so don't match the pose. Anyone else had this issue? Also has anyone got the Bridge to Max facility to work correctly? Seems okay at the Daz end, but seem to be missing a component to go into Max perhaps? Weird.
Anyway here are some pics from Daz, that part worked okay. Two things with the X-Wing Pilot gear though, first the control box needs to be made a Rigid Body asset as it distorts all over the place with the body of the character, when it should be a solid metal box, and I find the X-Wing pilot helmet with this figure just a touch to small, and doesn't have the density of geometry I would want from it, but that's okay, as I do have a helmet of my own, and that seemed to work alright. The helmet I made as acompanion piece to my old V-Wing Starfighter. Worked a treat.
Oh, and I almost forgot, here's a little compositing fun, figure isn't the right scale, as I didn't want him to get lost in the shot, but I dropped him into one of my old Imperial hangar renders to see how he looked.
And here he is in his new green threads...
Nice!
I imported a fbx model of the Tantive IV into DAZ Studio and was really pleased with the results! The materials all came through just great - seems like they seldom do. (I did cheat a little and used Photoshop Generative AI on the front cockpit window). The Joy is in The Work!
Nice work looks good
Cracking results, very cool.
Well the Daz version of the red Starchaser R-41A (Pirate Snub Fighter) is pretty much complete, here's how she looks rendered in Daz, got to get the blue version sorted, and then get them through PASS, so hopefully not too long to wait now.
Very nice
Starchaser Submitted to PASS now. Hopefully not too long before this is made available.
Here are a couple more renders, cockpit interior shots, and the original blue colour scheme of the Starchaser through the lens of Daz3D.
Awesome
Shortly before the start of Ahsoka Season 1
"Are you going to ask me a question or just keep swivelling your head until the joints freeze?"
Despite Huyang's metal countenance, he managed to simultaneously appear confused, guilty, and guileless at the same time.
"What? I have no idea what you're talking about" he replied in the way that Ahsoka knew meant he knew he'd been caught out.
"Seriously?" She turned and looked at him with a half smile. "How long have I known you now?"
"If I didn't already know that was a rhetorical question then the answer would be twenty nine years, two hundred and-"
Ahsoka held up her hand and Huyang fell silent.
"You always prevaricate when you've been caught out." When she saw his shoulders slump fractionally, she continued. "Whatever it is, just ask."
"If I was pedantic, I would point out that it is two questions, but I'm not. So question one, why do you now need to get to Arcana so quickly?"
Ahsoka looked around sharply, but there was nobody within earshot. Taking him by the elbow, she led him to a quiet corner of the market place, somewhere just busy enough to obscure their conversation.
"For a droid who's lived as long as you have, your tact needs some work!"
She lowered her voice as she continued to eye the crowd that thronged around their hiding place.
"We know that when our "friend" went missing" - there was no need to mention Ezra's name to clarify the quotes - "it was with a school of Purrgil correct?"
Huyang merely gave a small nod.
"So I've done some serious research into them and there is an old Jedi legend that suggests that not only do they have a means to travel through hyperspace, but at certain times, even extragalactic travel."
Huyang's eyes flickered slightly as he accessed records that had long laid dormant. After a moment, he looked at her with a seeming new brightness in his eyes.
"Yes, they believed that it was the migration route of dying Purrgil elders. They would be escorted by younger Purrgil to their ancestral graves. But I do not see how a legend can move us forward in our search."
"Now cross reference that to the appendix for Arcana." Again she waited as he accessed his data banks. His silence was slightly longer this time before he looked at her again.
"A map?"
She smiled at him and nodded. "It seems that even more research was done by somebody on the migratory routes of the dying Purgill than was believed. That, my friend is why we need to get there as quickly as possible, because if the rumours are true that somebody is searching for a missing Grand Admiral, we might not be the only ones heading there. You can be sure that they know wherever our "friend" went, so did Thrawn..."
Huyang stood up straight, obviously satisfied with her logic.
"We must not delay then. I will..."
"There were two questions?"
The droid paused, caught off guard.
"Your questions?" she prompted.
"Ah yes. I was going to ask, why are you trying to do this all alone. I have now realised that you are not alone, are you?"
Ahsoka placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled. "No, I don't think I ever have been."
As they set off at a brisk pace for the T-6, a small, almost insignificant black shape detached itself from the shadows. It hovered for a moment as a small red light blinked on its bug-like carapace, then with barely a sound it disappeared in a small cloud of shattered parts.
