3rd party scripts

I'm working on a Windows 10 system with Daz Studio 4.10,,, I downloaded the PointAtFixer script from sharecg.com and am trying to install it but can't figure out where.  I also bought DazToMaya (3dForAll) which was downloaded and installed by the install manager.  When I go to the scripts menu in Daz Studio I find the 3dForAll script but see no other scripts.  I know there are a ton of .dsa files in various places, eg, in the program files folder, app data folder, content data folders but on the script menu I only see the 3dForAll script.  I even tried to put the PointAtFixer.dsa in the same folder as 3dForAll and it didn't show up their either.  So, my question(s).  Where do the scripts get put?  Why can't I see all the other scripts that were installed with DS?  Do you need to do some magic to activate them?

If anyone has any solutioins I sure would appreciate them.  My hair is thin enough as it is, I don't want to pull out anymore :)

Thank you

Scripts can be accessed like any other type of content, there shoul already be a Scripts folder in your content directory in which you can place those without installers. You can run them by finding them in the content pane and double-clicking, or by dragging the file from a file browser into the Viewport.

The Scripts menu is the default location for Custom Actions, which need not be scripts - you can add a piece of content to the menu by right-clicking on it in the Content Library and selecting Create Custom Action. You can use the Winbdow>Workspace>Customise dialogue to add your custom actions to other menus or to tool bars by drag-and-drop.

  • Thank you, my hair also thanks you :)  Should I gather all those other scripts that apparently came with DS and put them in that folder as well?  Again, thank you.  I thought I'd tried that one but I obviously had not.

Moving things around, if you mean moving the actual files, can cause issues when you update. The user-facing scripts that come with DS are geenrally in the Scripts folder already - there are others (for sahder support, and for built-in tools like Drop to Floor and Symmetry) in the application folder but those should definitely be left where they are.
