Regarding the iREAL Animated Ocean Water System

JMCarriganJMCarrigan Posts: 179

For some plebian reason (probably) I saw a boat in various videos and came to the conclusion that the iREAL Animated Ocean Water System had some sort of physics engine that allowed the waves to affect the boat's motion.

I suppose that I came to the wrong conclusion? (In my favor is the fact that Lightwave3D can do that sort of thing.)

You can use rigid follow node to allow the waves to move objects (boat, ball, etc.).

    Oh my gawd!  Thanks.

I can't hear your tutorial nor can I find that node you speak of. I'll try again.

I had to turn my volume waaay up to hear it.

She uses the rigid follow node at about 6:45 into the video.

That did me no good.  Sorry.  Is there some other tutorial? I need to know where to start and all the selections I make. I use a small boat by the way.  Is there something that must be bought?

Yes. This one is much louder. It shows you how to use geometry editor to make the selection and create the follow node. You don't have to buy geometry editor -- it comes with Daz.

    Okay. Great and thanks.

Well. Here's what I am picking up and trying to apply to the iReal Ocean.  Wait.  If I want a boat to bob on the ocean -   gawd. I don't know.

The tutorial IS louder, but I can't seem to figure out what to select when.  Gawd. I'll just try various things.

I'm trying to apply the, louder thankfully, tutorial to a boat and the iReal Ocean.  Hmm.There are things going on in that tutorial that I simply cannot follow.  Is there anyone who can say what to select 1st, how and when?  I can't seem to pick it up.

I have a square of ocean with a small row boat in it.  How do I select the polygons of which item first? I just need a list of do this, then that, then do this to that etc.  It seems to me that I have to select all the ocean?  Ahhggghhhgg.

Are you switching the geometry Editor tool, with the ocean selected? I expect that is a vital first step.

You see Richard Haseltine, that's a good question I believe.  And I will look and try to find out if I am. BUT I really NEED a list of steps including where to click on which button named this or that.

I am probably not being clear but even If I am it may be more that one can expect.  I hope what you have asked me will help.  Thanks.
