Hi,

I've checked off the light emitter but i can still see it in reflective surfaceses, is there any way to disable that?

Thanks

If it has geometry it will be seen. Set Opcaity down on the emissive surface or hide item in scene?

Render Emitter off affects only the direct line of sight, if the light is seen through a surface or in a reflection it will still render.

I realised that the hard way. so what is the trick?

As SimonJM says, set teh Cutout Opacity to a very low but non-zero value. Just be aware that Iray doesn't do pseudo specularity, if the light isn't reflecting there will be no hihglights, so you may find the end rsult is too mat.

    I will try that.

    Thanks

Old thread, I know, but I wasn't finding anything more recent on this topic.

There's no cutout opacity on a point light set as a rectangle, there are no surface settings at all. So is there a way to prevent the rectangle from showing in reflected surfaces?

It is only emissive surfaces that have cut-out oppacity. Lights do not.

Right, but this thread didn't specify mesh lights. So I was hoping there was a way.
