Advice on posing Dog 8's leash?

So any tips on using the leash? I am having an awkward time with posing it, so advice from anyone wtih success would be helpful

It offers one solution; otherwise, I just pose the leash one section at a time.

Can you just stick an active pose pin in one end and then pull the other end around? I do not have this product but that works with most ropes, chains etc Ive encountered (like sickleyields shackled stuff).
