Deleting custom assets but they're still in smart content

Hello, I'm trying to delete custom assets from my library, but for some unknown reasons they're still in the smart content tab, how can I fix that?

If you find its entry in the Content Library under Cetegories (you can get there by right-clicking on the entry in Smart Content and using the Show In sub-menu) then you should be able to right-click and select Remove Reference.
It's happening because the Smart Content tab is not a view of your content files, it's a filtered and sorted view of database entries of links to your content files. If you don't delete the database entry as well as the content files, as far as Smart Content is concerned your deleted content is "still there".
