What version of 3Delight comes with Daz ? 3Delight studio pro ?

I've been doing some research on 3Delight render engine, according to website, basic render engine uses dual core, so regardless of one's cpu speed, AMD having 4, 6 and 8 core cpu's available, 3delight will only render dual core in Daz, according to what I read. Unless one purchases a license for higher cpu core use. I was planning on building an 8 core system shortly, according to 3Delight, multiple core license is $1250 !!!

Going to contact 3Delight for more info. Once I recieve reply, will update here.

The 3Delight in DAZ Studio Pro will render on all available cores, but if you want to build a renderfarm using standalone renders then you will need to shell out a huge pile of money.

Thanx Totte, guess Daz purchased multicore license. But doesn't make any sense to me, cause Daz is free, 3Delight dual core license is free. Just want to make sure Daz 3Delight will utilize all 8 cores, otherwise don't need to upgrade to an 8 core system.

Can anyone with 6 or 8 core system verify, Daz utilizes all cores, windows task manager performance while rendering ??

Tired of seeing my cpu max'd out at 100%, with simple renders, Lol !!

go into the task manager and go to processes and right click on DAZ Studio.exe. Selct Set Affinity and select the number of cores you want it to use

But yes, it does use the full 8 virtual cores of my i7 and maxes the CPU.

Hi Richard, thanx for info, up till my quad core system malfunctioned, I noticed a major speed difference. Sux, 3Delight doesn't use GPU, to help speed things along.

But yes, it does use the full 8 virtual cores of my i7 and maxes the CPU.

If your more talented then me then you can have a script that will do it for you. I can't get it to work for some reason. There is something I'm overlooking
