I am trying to make a video game. Would using Genesis and my own clothing require this or is it legal for me to go ahead with it?

If your game includes using the Genesis mesh, then yes you will need the game license.
Dang.:shut:
Oh well. Thank you.
EDIT: Wait. What about in video/movie use?
Regardless of the license, Genesis big thing is the weight mapping, which doesn't work in game engines. The mil 2 or 3 figures would probably work best. But still, getting the rigging to transfer might be a pain. I'd recommend finding a mil 3 figure http://www.daz3d.com/michael-3-0-base Then seeing if you can actually use it. I'm not sure which game engine you are using, but no reason to put the cart before the horse. See if you can do it, then worry about the license.
I tried to get V3 in to the Unity game engine a while back. People say you can but I never managed it; a bit too complex for me.
Oh, yes you can use 2D renders and animations with out a license.
MakeHuman.org
MakeHuman produces a unimesh figure that is completely license free and optimized for game use with two low poly proxies.
It's one heck of a useful program. I've chopped up that poor Homonculus figure and used it to make everything from clothing to props. Can't wait for the Alpha 8 release with the improved mesh.
Thanks everybody.
Still think the best makehuman was one of the first. It was great for making humanoid monsters and aliens. Makehuman figures is how I learned to rig in carrara ;-)
Genesis decimated and converted to FBX works fine. Here is V6 dancing decimated down to 20k polys: http://www,1-ogg.com

If you have questions about what this means you can or cannot do with our models you will need to consult a licensed attorney. I am not qualified or licensed to offer legal advice, and I am not aware of anyone in our forums who is.
