Are there any "essential" G2F things that are not in the V6 pro bundle?

As the title suggests, I'm wondering if there are any "essential" things for G2F that do not come with the pro bundle?

I mostly mean morphs like Genesis face and body essentials or whatever it's called. I want to be able to have enough flexibility in my characters when I do finally take the plunge and I'm making a list of stuff to get.

Robust morph packages that are considered musts: hit me up!

Not a morph package but definitely worth the purchase is the Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 female product. It provides a clone so you can use V4 clothing on Genesis. You also get the UV map set for Victoria 4 which means you can use V4 textures. (Note: A lot of V5 textures have V4 UV maps which means without V4 UV map set those can't be used on Gen 2 Female.) *

One caveat is that you have to go through and save each skin texture (skin texture preset) as a material preset before you can apply them the first time to Gen 2 Female.

All I have for G2F at the present time is the V6 Pro Bundle. Two of the characters that come in the bundle require the Genesis 2 Female(s) Morph Bundle in order to take full advantage of the morphs. I don't have the morph bundle yet but I can still use the characters (to an extent) and everything else in the V6 Pro Bundle.

The other kind-of-essential item is the Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female product, because it allows you to use all your V4 clothing and skin textures (including a bunch of Genesis textures that were made using the V4 UV map) with Genesis 2 Female.

Those two products may be the biggest priorities, but the following will also be on my shopping list once I'm ready to buy more stuff for G2F:
Gia 6 (the next major release, after V6)
Genesis 2 Female Head Morph Resource Kit (I have some of these resource kits for Genesis and recommend them)
Shape Shift for Genesis 2 Female and V6 (I have the Genesis version of this...it's good!)

And some others that may be considered "essential" for specific situations...
Clothing Breast Fixes for Genesis 2 Female - what it says...makes clothing fit better in the breast area
Sickle Dress Rig Genesis 2 Female - for fitting dresses made for Genesis to Genesis 2 Female
Genesis 2 Female Clone for Genesis - for using G2F outfits on the original Genesis figure

It's all subjective, of course...but that's how I'd answer your question.

Sorry, I thought you were just looking for the packs not in the bundles that add more flexibility to G2F.

The single most important item for G2F is the head & body morph bundle, which is not part of the Pro pack. Other things, like the V4 shape & UV, are very useful. But all of them pale in comparison to the head & body morphs, IMO.

Load it onto genesis, make sure you select v4 uv's so it aligns and save it as a skin preset. You can then load it onto v6.

I'd save it out from V4 as opposed to Genesis so the texture aligns properly, since Genesis needed the corrected UV product.

    I'd second that.

    1. Apply the texture to V4 not Genesis. (Note: You don't have to inject morphs or anything as you're just saving out the material preset.)

(If you must apply to Genesis, do yourself a favor and use the UV corrected product. The caveat is that it only fixes the facial problems. Link to product. http://www.daz3d.com/corrected-v4-uv-for-genesis . This scores a must have in my book for anyone using the original Genesis.)

    2. Go to menu bar; select Edit

Tip: (Windows tip) You can right click with this save dialog box open and select new folder; name it; click on it; fill in file save name; save. This way you can organize as you go. After main texture name, presets will save to same folder. Navigate out when desired. You can also save them into groups..example eyes, lips, etc.

    3. You'll get a material save options dialog that comes up that has a check list. For an entire skin texture. Leave everything checked; click accept. You should have at least one base skin per texture set.

I have to warn you this gets boring once you start doing multiple make up presets like eye makeup, eye color, lip color, lashes, etc.

    4. For individual presets like lip color, go through the same steps except deselect checkmarks for everything that isn't being changed; click accept. (See Tip below.)

Tip: Right click material options save dialog box with check mark list. A context menu will pop up. Select Uncheck

I have to admit I did several textures before I realized there was a context menu to uncheck all those boxes and it really really boring unchecking all those boxes. LOL. When I found that by clicking around, I was a happier camper. Still, it's boring but worth the time. BTW, I've also found if you keep your V4 textures on an external hard drive, it needs to be connected because that preset is referencing the original textures. I personally had a DUH moment on that little gem.

    5. When you apply your texture to Genesis 2 Female, you need to select Genesis 2 Female in the scene; go to surfaces tab; change the UV set to Victoria 4. (This assumes you have the V4 to Genesis product mentioned in the earlier posts.) http://www.daz3d.com/people/victoria-4-for-genesis-2-female

Tip: I always type uv in the search box in the editor tab.

Tip: The image you have framed in your camera is the image you'll get as your preset so it's good to zoom in on what you are changing for example zoom in on an eye if you are changing eye color.

Image 1. Walk through Save material

Image 2. Uncheck all Boxes except material you are altering. In this case, lip color preset is being saved.

Image 3. Select Victoria 4 UV set in surface tab.

Image 4. Zoom in on altered material to make a nice preset snap shot. Example shows eye make up preset for Amber texture.

http://www.daz3d.com/people/genesis-2-head-morph-resource-kit is also good. Here's a quicky render using the texture Amber V4 texture I converted from V4. http://www.daz3d.com/amber-for-victoria-4-and-aiko-4. I used a combo of head and body morphs for Gen 2 female http://www.daz3d.com/morphs/genesis-2-female-morphs-bundle and the Genesis 2 head morph resource kit. V6 head is also in that combo.

It's just a quicky without any post work.

Just for fun. The second image is the exact same morphs except all of the genesis 2 head morph resource kit morphs have been zeroed out.

Image 1: With some of the resource kit morphs. http://www.daz3d.com/people/genesis-2-head-morph-resource-kit

Image 2: Same morphs without any http://www.daz3d.com/people/genesis-2-head-morph-resource-kit

Note: Same exact texture, pose, and expression used on both images...
