DForce Hair

Does anybody know if DForce allows applying it from a certain keyframe? I have an issue where the hair collides with the hand and then explodes. It is specific to the seated pose where the hand supports the head (imagine someone sad). I applied DForce simulation to the animation where the model just walks without touching the hair, it works just fine. My animation starts with the seated pose, then rising and walking. So can I apply DForce from the moment she stands up and starts the walk? Or perhaps I might play with some collision settings to avoid the explosion? Thank you.

try adjusting the pose, to make sure there's room for the dForce surface between body parts - if it has nowhere to go it is likely to explode. I don't believe it is possible to apply only from a certain point, but you could do two versions and splice them together.
Hey Richard, thanks for the thoughts. Adjusting the pose is the challenge. The model's hand supports the head and is pressed against her temple. The hair is naturally covering the hand. I can't think of where I can add space...Please see the picture
When I look at your picture, I see that the hand intersects with the hair. This definitely doesn't work. You will have to push the hair out of the way with an invisible object, pose the hand and then simulate the hair. This has to be done with an animation. Maybe someone has a better idea.
you can make all of the bones of the hands invisible in simulation
Invisible objects won't collide with dForced objects, so hiding the hand means the hair will still pass through the point where the hand should be.
What also happens with hands and any dForced object is that it tries to go between the bones, gets tangled in them, tries to break free, and then BOOM.
Place a sphere primitive around the hand so all of it is covered. Scale the sphere so the hair drapes over it realistically. Set its Opacity to 0 and disable any Specularity on it show it doesn't catch any light at all.
That will deflect the hair off the hand naturally.
