no content installed with my new Daz Pro 4.6

I thought that there was a model that was supposed to be included. Documentation says that it should open with a base model on the screen the first time I open the program. But all I have is a screen sans model. There is no content at all in my library. I downloaded the Genesis started packages but don't know how to install them. There doesn't seem to be an installer with any of them. Help, please!

Genesis Starter Essentials and Geneses 2 f starter essentials. You need to downlload those as well as the DS 4.6 file

    1. Start DAZ Studio
    2. go to Edit - Preferences
    3. when preferences window pops out, go to (click) content library (on top, last on the right) and than click content directory manager (last on the bottom) (pic 1)
    4. when content directory window pops out, click on little triangles in front of DAZ Studio formats and Poser formats to expand them. Locations which are shown there are your folders where additional content is installed (or manually put in) (pic 2) like genesis figures, clothing etc.

    5. for manual install of genesis 1 and 2 from manual .zip files, double click on zips to open them, double click content folder to get inside it. Select everything that is inside content folder and copy it into folder that is listed in your content directory window in DAZ studio, like for example .../ My Library .

I followed your instructions, but there is still no content in my content library. Nothing for me to choose. Thanks for your help in getting this straightened out. (I didn't mention I am on a Mac, if that makes any difference).

Err, dunno about Mac. In case that you are talking about content library tab from DAZ studio, when you are in content library go to (click) active pane options (little icon on top that looks like line of text with triangle at start) and use Scan known directories for Files. When its done, go to active pane options again and use Content DB Maintenance. When window pops out check (activate) Re-Import metadata and Accept. Genesis 1 should be at DAZ Studio formats under People - Genesis. Or in Smart content tab (files), under figures.

    Edit:

What is inside genesis manual zips for mac?

    Hello,

first, did you download the Genesis Essentials or Genesis 2 Essentials?
And if you did, how did you install them? Using the DAZ Install Manager (DIM) or manaually.

Even if it says 3D models included you still need to download those separately, mostly to avoid redundant downloads when downloading new versions of the software.

OK I see the problem is how to install. Please download DIM, it will make life much easier.
