What is the difference in these? They are the materials options for the skin. She has shadows under her eyes, does the SSS affect those?

EDIT: I am reviewing her currently in my art studio thread, if you want to see an extreme closeup and the makeup options. Just haven't a clue what these do (did spot renders and didn't see a difference, but that's not saying anything.)

They change the subsurface scattering strength to 25%, 50% or 75%. They may adjust some other settings, like the diffusion strength to compensate. I have not looked at what all they change.

Victoria 6 has these presets too.

Yeah, I guessed that- but what does that actually DO? :)

Subsurface scattering emulates light passing through the skin. Adjusting the strength is how much of that effect you want. You can really see it in Poser- it's on the figures that tend to look like clay or wax.

Thank you. I'll have to render closeups and see if I can tell the difference that way. Nothing really stood out at me.
EDIT: Oh geez, now I''m an Addict.
