DS is slow to open and it opens multiple instances

Today DS is slow to open and it opened twice.  At least two splash screens as it has not finished loading.  What could be causing it to open slowly and multiple instances?  I closed it earlier because smart content was not showing.

Sounds like a system issue - is this happ[enign with other applications? That could indicate a mouse issue (switch or batteries).

That happens to me when my mouse goes berserk — one light tap on the button becomes two or three program launches.
