dforce on a Mac

I couldn't find any topic on this, so I'm starting a new thread.
When I try to simulate using dforce, I get the error message "Error initializing openCL kernels".
Does anyone know how to deal with that on a Mac? I have DAZ 4.10 on a Macbook Pro (ATI Redeon HD 6750M) with OSX 10.9.5.

I don't know if Radeon cards can handle OpenCL (and it must be v1.2, not v1.1) but if not, you will need to hunt out OpenCL drivers for your CPU.
First, I'm running 10.13.6, so your mileage may vary!
Did you try to switch to CPU for simulation? I had to, since my card does not have enough memory.
Open the Simulation Settings panel, then click on "Advanced". There should be a pop-up menu below "OpenCL Device", select your CPU instead of the graphics card.
There might be a dialog about "updating kernel stuff" either after selecting the CPU or when using the "Simulate" button the first time; simply click OK.
Background: if your GPU-memory is < 4GB, then simulating anything more complex than a subdivided plane will either fail or crash DS (that's what happened in my case, at least).
BTW: updating macOS seems to switch the OpenCL device back to your GPU. In my case, this resulted in multiple crashes when simulating complex clothing or more than one object. Especially simulations getting out of hand, as in failing and resulting in weird polygon "mountains" kept crashing DS due to a lack of GPU-memory.
Hope this helps, Erik
That was it! To switch from AMD Radeon to Intel CPU in the advanced panel. Thank you, Erik!
Which means that Radeon cards do not support openCL (on Macs). You were right, SpottedKitty.
