Lights...adding to and replacing

I've noticed this issue before but it came up again tonight. I'm working on a set and it comes with several different light presets.

So let's say one preset turns on a set of lights around the wall. Another one will turn on the overhead lights.

The problem is when I click on one, it will add it. Ok. Then I click on the next, it replaces whatever lights are in the scene. It doesn't add to what is there.

I tried to research it and saw two things. One holding down the CTRL key and dragging into the scene (doesn't work). And right clicking and selecting Merge into scene. That doesn't either. No matter what I do it also replaces the lights rather than adding to what is already there.

So what am I doing wrong? I was almost tempted to save each separately and try and merging the files together but that's just too much work. Besides some settings are opposite like make ambience high and make ambience low.

It's got to be something simple but I'm not seeing yet.

Thanks.

What set? As Both those methods should work in DS.

The pool and sauna set by 3dc @ rendo. But I also tried switching and adding on a blank scene as well as several other different light sets and still the same thing. And in some cases there isnt a preset that turns everything on at once. Hasnt been a big deal as I'm trying to learn to light on my own but annoying.

Poser Light sets will not work properly in DS. This might be the issue. Some seem to be okay and others just fail fully.

Yeah it is really hit and miss but I buy a lot of Poser stuff just because I like it. I just have to adjust everything which is fine. It gives me lots of practice.

In this case, I thought they would work because I can set each group individually and they seem to work. I just can't seem to get them all in the same scene at the same time. And I thought I would try the overhead lights in addition to the outside lights to make it a little brighter. I have the outside lights and an Uber. As you can see one on the left and right of the wall in the picture. It doesn't give off much light but I liked the effect.

But the brightness is really hard to tell. I'm using a 32" TV as a monitor and most of the time the screen is dim and then sometimes it gets really bright on its own. Other than the brightness of a pic everything else is fine.

Oh well, I'll work on that as well as "roughing" up the water. The color is fine but is too still. And I'm going to try some underwater shots too. That'll be a first.

All in all, it's just practice.

Thanks for your time and effort. It is much appreciated!

What I have done before is set up DS lighting to match the poser lighting then Delete the Poser set from the scene. I then Save the DS set (yes there is a Save As Lighting Preset option). I can then Merge the DS versions to get all the lighting in the scene. It's work but when your done you have a Set or sets of DS lighting for the next render of that set.

That is a good idea. I didn't think about transferring them over. I did experiment today but it failed also. I loaded the lights on, saved them to a file and then merged them back. And nothing. I did get a decent underwater light going so at least I accomplished something today. :)
