What happened to that Genesis-like songbird product and its bundles? They're not showing up anywhere, and are even missing from my wishlist. Don't tell me I lost the opportunity to purchase them...! :(

Links to other commercial sites are unwelcome here, but the name of the product is Songbird ReMix. I'm sure you can figure out what to do with that information.

Ken is now selling at Hivewire3D. :) The prices are no where near the same though. 8-/

Which prices are different? The items I bought here seem to be the same price there.

Items purchased from the vendors who jumped ship should still show up in your Product Library for download (I know mine are), but I haven't found anything for sale at HiveWire3D that's also still being sold here at DAZ ('course, I haven't LOOKED all that hard, so I'm willing to admit I could be mistaken). No, the prices are definitely NOT the same: items I bought at DAZ for $1.99 in the PC are full price at HiveWire3D -- they've got some vendors with high name recognition supporting them, but I can't see their prices generating many sales.

Ken's birds were never in the PC. Lisa's Botanicals were. The base Songbird is still in the PC.

Sorry for the confusion -- I know Ken's birds weren't in the PC. I had Lisa's Botanicals in mind when I wrote that post. Thankfully I 'd already bought most of what I wanted while they were still in the PC, 'cause at the prices they're asking now, I won't be buying.

I cant even buy over there. They only accept CC for transactions. I don't do that on a new, unproven web based store. Not enough time to work out all the security risks IMO.

Damn... And I really liked Lisa's Botanicals, too...

The prices don't sound THAT bad to me... Pricey compared to clothing and other human-related props, sure, but they're right smack dab in the average range when you consider what you get. I'm not looking for opinions on what an appropriate price for DAZ vegetation is, but is it possible that your gripes are based on the fact that her prices are much higher than what you're accustomed to?

I mean, I look at Andrey Pestryakov, Predatron, and Merlin Studios, and their vegetation props are in the exact same price range (maybe it's Lisa's bundles that are overpriced, I didn't do any research on that nor do I know what their price was prior) I think Dinoraul's over at Renderosity's cost even more than that (then again, Renderosity stuff is more expensive anyhow), but I don't have a problem with his prices because hey-- his stuff is just too badass for words :P
Come to think of it, IIRC, Traveler's and Judith's more recent plant props are in the same price range as well, as were, I THINK (but don't quote me on this) their older plant props before they entered the deep freeze sale.

Well the normal (non-PC) prices here at DAZ were pretty high too.

I was gonna say something to that effect, but I hadn't got around to it yet. Yeah, a quick glance at HiveWire's prices show the Lisa's Botanicals base products going for about $15~$17 apiece, with expansions about $10 each. I think that's pretty comparable to what they were in DAZ's store, but since I'm a PC member, I NEVER paid full price for Lisa's products. The quality can't be denied, tho', and I think THAT is what will generate any sales there (at least from newer users who're building their content libraries and older users who hadn't gotten everything they wanted yet, tho' I still don't see many older users willing to pay that price).

All of my Lisa's Botanicals products are still available for download in my Product Library -- they didn't disappear when she switched stores. Whether they will remain available is anyone's guess, but it's been about a year since Pret-a-3D and Mec4D both left, and their products are also still available, so I would guess an arrangement was made to support customers.

I don't think so- I recall from another thread someone was talking about an item not being found that was on their wishlist, and I think it was because the vendor was gone when they researched it. Not 100% certain though. No way to find the thread because I can't remember what the topic was.

I'm pretty sure anything you've bought will remain for download in your Product Library as long as you're a DAZ member, even if the artists disappear. At least I haven't seen anything that's disappeared yet. Same seems to be the case on other 3D sites.

I was talking about the Wishlist however and that's a different story - they should disappear from the Wishlist if the product is removed from the store. But the Wishlist has been quite buggy lately, that's why I ask.

Yes anything you bought from DAZ 3D will remain in your order history.

I remember the thread that Novica mentioned, where someone said that all the Ken and Lisa products in their wish lists had disappeared, so it would appear that bit does work.

Oh, sorry -- my misunderstanding. I don't know about wish-list items disappearing if the vendor leaves DAZ, but at least with the old store (dunno 'bout the new store), there were several instances of a product being removed from sale and yet still showing up in my wish-list. One time, one of these items was even on "sale" (probably included 'cause the vendor's store was on sale) and I was seriously bummed out when I discovered I couldn't actually purchase it.

I respect vendors moving to other stores, and their right to charge what they wish. However, I have to choose items that I will use repeatedly and which are of good value. To me- the prices for some content seem excessive. I won't be shopping there much.

For example, the strawberry plant in lisa's store is 14.95.

Not picking on Lisa, but to me, that item is not worth 14.95. I could buy a brand new character with morphs and poses and possibly even hair for that cost.. It is a cool plant, and I should've picked it up when it was a 1.99 platinum club item, but I can't and won't pay 14.95 for that.

Lots of content being resold there are also older items..

I can confirm that they will leave your wishlist. In fact, this was mentioned in my OP.

And you're definitely right IMHO that 3 strawberry models with 4 fruit, 1 plant, and 2 ground textures are way too pricy. The other vendors I mentioned have (at least for the most part) more reasonably priced plant props (Andrey's trees are similarly priced or slightly more expensive, but those are bigass trees, and not groundcover)
It would appear that Lisa priced a lot of her models at 14.95, even though the strawberry probably would be better off priced at 8.99 or 6.99 like some of her other plants, and many of her other 14.95 plants are more reasonably priced, IMO.

Sorry, I just found this thread.

I have given permission for DAZ to retain copies of my products for your accounts, so you should be able to always get a backup copy of my products through the DAZ DIM. Current and future updates for these products can be found at my website in the Download Section. I currently have a series wide update in place that allows you to access the online Field Guides from the bird libraries.

I don't know if it's appropriate for me to speak on this subject here, but my pricing on products has not changed in the past 10+ years I've been doing Songbird Remix at DAZ or now the "other" place.

...I think one of the issues here was the fact that many of Lisa's plants were DO/PC items so it is a case of "sticker shock" for some having to pay the full price for ones they are missing from their collections. Some may feel that if Daz bought them as DO/PC items, that they were owned by Daz and thus should have remained in the store (I have no clue on how these arrangements work myself).

I looked at the prices of your songbird sets and agree that the prices are the same (if not better with the various bundle offerings) as they were here.

    Love your stuff ken.

I tried the other place, but there don't seem to be a lot of sales, and the prices seem high for the plants as I have mentioned. I check in now and then, but since I don't use Dawn, I'm not buying there much, and I don't like the point thing. I prefer straight discounts.

Glad to hear you haven't raised your prices. Thats nice of you and gtk.

Hope you have good luck there though. I miss seeing your birds here. =-)

There was a thread somewhere that partially mentioned how it worked. Basically Daz didn't own the PC items that were produced while someone was an Admin. They would need to come to an agreement with that PA if they ever stopped being an Admin.
