Making certain areas translucent

edited December 1969 in New Users

Hello, I'm somewhat new to Daz and I was wondering if there is any way to make only certain areas of a skin or material translucent/transparent, without making the whole material translucent. For example, I'll try to make, say, the actual abdomen of a figure translucent, but the only thing I can select and make translucent is the entire torso with the back and chest and such. Is there any way to modify the surface to make it partially translucent without half the figure translucent?

Thanks!

You can use the Polygon Group Editor. You then save your Selected area as a New Surface in Polygon Group Assignment (it's right click to open the Menu). You can then select the new Surface and adjust as you wish.

TIP: To keep working on a Polygon Edited figure it is best to save it as a Scene file. Not a Scene Sub set. Just delete all except the figure first.
TIP 2: To put the original Texture back just load the Texture/textures needed that would load for that area of the figure. Like Torso for Abdomen.
