Snapshot CloudFlare

I have not been at DAZ much. Every time I try I get an error page. 502. When I get a page, I've logged out/logged in, cleared my cache, I've done an f5, I've rebooted, etc etc. I'm not even sure I'm on DAZ right now because I got this little message in a banner on top of the page screen when I finally got one to appear:

Retry for a live version
This page (http://www.daz3d.com/) is currently offline.
However, because the site uses CloudFlare's Always Online™
technology you can continue to surf a snapshot of the site.
We will keep checking in the background and, as soon as the site comes back,
you will automatically be served the live version. Always Online™ is powered by
CloudFlare | Hide this Alert 2:55pm PST

So what exactly is this? Should I attempt purchasing with a "snapshot"? I don't understand this. I'm logged in now. I have not felt comfortable with this situation. It's awkward enough trying to read forum threads, some come up some have the error message. I tried browsing the store and the same thing. Sometimes I can open a product page, other times not. I have latest version of Win Internet Explorer. I don't have this problem at other sites, graphical or not. The error page shows a little schematic which seems to indicate it is the DAZ site that has the problem. Is there some optimal viewing or logging in time? Today is Monday, and not a holiday as far as I know.

Daz_Jon did suggest that this could be caused by a corrupted cookie. Try cleaning out all your daz cookies and see if that helps.

If that error is happening in the forums for some people when trying to view certain parts because of a bug with the forum software and an old cookie, then it won't affect your shopping at all and can be corrected by just logging out and back in or removing your cookies for Daz3d.com.

If it is happening in the store, that is a different thing and shouldn't be happening. Please let us know if it is the store itself instead of the forums and we can look at troubleshooting it for you to find out why its coming up.

Thank you both for your replies. I had to try 4 times to get to the forum page this evening, after getting the 502 gateway error page again. I had been using my bookmark, but even with doing an internet search for DAZ, the site came up with the same error page.

I have deleted the DAZ cookies. I did another f5. I notice the broken page icon in my browser bar with the daz url. I clicked on it, and it turned blue. Sorry, I am not so computer savvy as to understand what that means. Good?Bad? It made the reply font turn grey.

I did browse a few items in the store to see if the same error page would come up, but it did not this time. I'm going to log off and relog in after I close the browser and restart, and see how that goes.

Log in, log out and log in, and daz forum working... for a time. I need to do this at least two times in a day.

After a complete reboot this morning, I still could not get past the gateway error page with the new bookmark. I think DAZ should take a look at this problem because when I search Yahoo search for DAZ 3d and find the home site url listed, when I click on that I get the 502 gateway error message. I'm sure that would deter customers if they did not know a way around that message.

I will point out again the error messages points to the DAZ site as the source of error, and not my internet connection nor the CloudFlare. Whether that is true or not, it says that the DAZ site is off line, perhaps due to an overload of connections.

With persistence another page comes up with that snapshot comment in a banner. I logged in, but I still don't know when the snapshot "goes live". I haven't tried shopping yet.

Some posts in the Commons when I click to open the thread show the gateway error page instead of the forum. I see the compatibility icon. It seems to address the width of the page I'm viewing, but not the gateway error messages.

I rely upon the forums for information. Such as the recent vendor changes in products that I have and am interested in. But it has been very tedious lately. Again, I point out this error does not appear on other sites that I visit regularly, including non-graphical.

I did the f5, I did the cache clearing, I deleted the DAZ cookies. I cleared my history, I logged off, I closed the browser, I rebooted. I re-searched for a fresh url, I clicked on it, got the gateway error message. I logged in, some threads still show the gateway error. I don't think it's "me" or my equipment.

Are you sure you got all the daz cookies? Some of the cloud flare ones are not listed as Daz.

Also sometimes, if things are sticking, actual rebooting your computer after clearing cache and cookies can make sure that they are completely out of your system.

    I've been having exactly the same problem......browser working......cloudflare working.....error at host Daz3d.

The store seems to work fine but the forum just wasn't working at all, producing a bad gateway 502 message and a cloudflare splash page, this is the first time in day's since I've had access to the forum.

You do need to purge cookies to get rid of the corrupted one.

    @Chohole

what should I look for in CloudFlare cookies?

I'm still having the same problem as described earlier, except I have not deleted these CloudFlare cookies.

well, still have the same problem accessing the Daz pages after the homepage. I get the gateway 502 error until I log into DAZ. I have deleted the cloudflare cookie. My machine has been cold rebooted this morning.

When I logged into my account, I was able to read some forum threads with no problem. However, I was browsing the Platinum club and when I tried to get to the third page, I got this error message

    Magento Commerce

There has been an error processing your request

Exception printing is disabled by default for security reasons.

    Error log record number: 1273465622476

Magento is a trademark of Magento Inc. Copyright © 2013 Magento Inc.

This is discouraging. After a while I was able to get back to the first pages. But I thought I should post this latest error message and will log off.

What happens if you try with a different Browser, maybe try FireFox or Chrome.

I'm using Windows Internet Explorer version 10. I don't know about other browsers, never used them. I guess the security with the IE works best with my Windows system being designed for that, so I would like to stay with that. I appreciate the suggestion that other browsers may work, work better for some users, but I think at this point, I'm done with modifying my equipment, and would like to see something on the website end to fix this problem.

It doesn't make sense to me that DAZ would not support such a longtime and widely used browser especially for a non mobile connection. I don't have any of that mobile stuff, and (gripe here) every ding-dang site I use has gone with the renovations recently. However, I can access them with my usual browser. 3 common competitors of DAZ have not given me any problems.

Today, I just typed into the address bar www.daz3d.com and was able to access the home page, and from there log in. If I do not log in I can see the forum titles but cannot open a thread without the gateway error message. After I log in I can open a thread to read, and post. If Daz requires log in to read and post in the forums, that is acceptable, but it should be noted or referenced somewhere, instead of that error page.

The error message insists that is is not my puter, nor cloudflare, but DAZ -has a little x on it's icon.

I know of very few, if any, forums where you can post without being logged in.

The problem you are getting is happening to so few people that it is very difficult to track down exactly what is causing it, if the suggestions that we have given you don't work for you.

    Chohole,
I appreciate the attention you have given to my problem. I know that many folks did not go through all the recommended steps, and I've tried not to complain until none of those worked. I have been a member with DAZ for 8 years, and even with the sale and changeover to the new platform, I did not have the problems many folks reported. My Platinum Club subscription worked through that time, Paypal worked, my purchases were only hiccoughed once, and Customer Service took excellent care and speed to rectify that.

When I said recently I had to log in every time I reached DAZ homepage, of course, I know that is how forums are usually set up. But, until I began having this problem, I would remain logged into the forums regardless of whether I was logged into the store or not.

I meant to say, I must log in to read the forums threads, which I never had to do in the past 8 years. If I do not log in, I get a gateway error from Cloudflare instead of the posting---that I was trying to read, not post to. I know the policy is for posting, one must be logged in. So I'm sorry I did not make that clear what was happening. I guess what I am saying is I do not appear to be "remembered" in the forum log in. But, instead of not being able to post, I am not able to read anything because of the gateway error message. It doesn't say, if you want to read the forum you must be logged in. That is unusual to me. I have visited several kinds of forums where I can read the posts, although not post.

It's fine. If that is the fix I can do, to type in the DAZ home URL in the Browser address bar, and then log in, easy enough. I can't use the shortcuts or the bookmarks I used to have anymore. I log in, and then log out. It's a little different than my routine of many years, but it's not a severe challenge.

I haven't tried to buy anything yet in the store. I browsed a little today, and did not get the magneto error message, which was reassuring.

I'm getting that error message from "Magento Commerce" when I try to get to Daz3d.com; I had been on the website for several hours before the error message began. "Magento Commerce" is offering me a free trial of their services. Nope, not me. I'm going to try an adware removal; but it may be the Daz3D website & not my computer, since other people have complained as well.

Actually I couldn't get there a few minutes ago, and the links here on the forum weren't showing up.

Now it's back, so I'm assuming it's the server that's to blame.

Magneto is the software the website uses. It's not any kind of spyware or anything. I'm not having any problems getting to the website.

There was a massive "go away, I'm not here" outage through (well, not through) the London CloudFlare servers a few hours ago. Store front page came up from my bookmark, but trying to log in tossed out the Magento error. It went away eventually, maybe half an hour or so after I first tried to log on. This was probably the longest outage I've had apart from the daily freeze-and-update, since the new store became about as stable as it usually is these days.

Clearing the cookies didn't do anything for me either, switching to Firefox was the only thing that worked. They are going to get new forum technology so that should help. (EDIT- worked for the forums yesterday, but not with the Magento thing earlier today. Couldn't get on.

At one stage there was a "degredation of Service" with the Amsterdam and London clouds, and at one time the LA one was having to be rerouted.

Cloudflare says that "DNS attack has been mitigated. Performance has returned to normal."

I have been getting cloudflare errors off and on for a while, but they never persisted to the next day so I've been ignoring them and trying again later, which usually worked. However just now I was completely unable to get to any forum topic at all for several days straight (although I was occasionally able to get to the forum top level, just not into any thread.) I finally sat down and looked at it and noticed that Internet Explorer was working fine, it was just Firefox that was giving me trouble, found this thread, tried clearing all cookies, still couldn't get to the thread, but then did the exit and restart firefox option after that at which point it started working.

I've been lucky in that I haven't had CloudFare issues for several months now. I had actually forgotten about it until you mentioned it, so they must've gotten things smoothed out a bit? Hopefully. :)
