  • Is this in the 4.11 Public beta? If so, go to Edit>Figure>Limits>Limits On (Rotation) and see if that fixes the issue.

in past, that happened when you added a character with "selected" another character in scene
be sure when you added a character in a scene
be on 'CLEAR SELECTION' and then added any character

I had the same thing. I think it’s an add-on assets JCM that is updating on the base model instead of the character it was intended for.

what you can do is load your base genesis bend the leg and look at the currently used morphs to see which one is causing the problem. If you don’t see it then make sure to show all hidden morphs too. Once you identify it you can change its ERC data to not apply on the base mesh.

Is this in the 4.11 Public beta? if so it is a known DS issue which can be worked around by turning limits on, and which is marked as fixed in a later build. If not please be clear which version of DS you referring to.

It’s an issue that has (for my self) seemingly existed for a while. I want to say since 4.9/10, but yes currently 4.11. I’m not for sure, I’ve just learned to deal with it. Yes keeping limits on as you mentioned does work. When it’s not possible to keep limits on I just go in to the current morphs list and force limits or 0 out the JCM. When I get home I will look at the offending morph and report back what it’s called.

The offending morph is named CTRLMD_N_XRotate_80. This is on the Left & Right shin. The issue arrises when a pose is applied and the user opts to "Turn limits off" and the shins Bend amount is !=0.

Check to see if it happens in 4.10.0.123 - if it does then it's a different issue and should be reported.

I'm on beta 4.11.0.171. I have the caved in thighs problem on all poses. Should I roll back to a previous version? How do I get to "CTRLMD_N_XRotate_80" and what do I do with it? Apologies for not being able to deal with 'offending morph' on my own.

I also have 4.10.0.123 and the caved in thighs thing doesn't happen ( identical content used). Also in 4.10.0.123 I get a this 'pose uses limits etc - turn on or turn off' message. This does not appear in 4.11.0.171 Beta.

You can just turn limits back on - Edit>Figure>Limits>Limits On (Rotation).

Whether you get the alert is set in the Content tab of Edit?Preferences (Daz Studio>Preferences on a Mac) - the last-but-one option, "When importing a Pose/Shaping file that exceeds limits:"

Thanks Richard. I turn back on the 'ask' dialogue in 4.11 and the caved in thighs go away completely.

    @davidcaputokeene

To manually set "CTRLMD_N_XRotate_80" when you have issues, do the following.

    1. Select your characters root node.
    2. With the "Parameters" tab selected click the "Options" icon (triangle pointing right with 4 lines) and enable "Show Hidden Properties".
    3. Click on the "Currently Used" in the "Parameters" tab.
    4. Scroll or search for "CTRLMD_N_XRotate_80"
    5. Use the slider or click the gear icon and adjust as you see fit.

for my part, the problem happened after I installed "Big girl morph" for G8F

  • A fixed version of the Big Girl Moprhs has been uploaded, though obviously it has to go through testing so I can't say when it will be released..

I am having this issue and I can't make it go away.  I did try the fixes above to no avail.  I cannot find CTRLMD_N_XRotate_80. This is not on the Left & Right shin, but I found simliar morphs in the thighs.  The issue is with a G8 male figure, Daz 4.16.  Certainly seems to be pose related with certain sitting poses.
