Setting up eye surface material for Genesis 8 Female results in visible blood vessels

Hello!
I'm fighting with a problem:
I have changed Genesis 8 Female's eye texture. My new texture doesn't look much different than the original DAZ texture, but it results in bloody / red eyes:
I've compared my texture to the original DAZ texture, and both have blood vessels and are red to some extent.
Only my texture's blood vessels are very visible.
Does anybody have any idea what might be causing this?
I've compared the original model and my own model for really long now, but I just don't see the difference.
Thank you for any idea!

This is viewport preview. How does it render?
Just like that.
Which render engine are you using? Iray? 3Delight? OpenGL?
iRay.
But I can already see in the Viewport that my eyes look different than the original DAZ eyes.
What did you change about the Sclera image in your editor? In the Daz Studio surfaces pane, did you change only the Base Color image map, or did you also change the Translucency Color image map? The same image is often used in both places. Maybe they are compounding to enhance the red.
I replaced the Sclera Base Color image with a new image, and I also used the same new image for the Sclera Transluceny Color.
I didn't change anything else.
Here is a comparison of the 2 images. On the left side, there's the original DAZ sclera texture, on the right side, there's my new texture.
DAZ's original texture is also full of blood vessels, but for some reason, the DAZ blood vessels are not that prominent.
So the question would rather be: Why are DAZ' blood vessels appear almost white? That might be a smarter way to formulate the question.
Image removed - please don't post texture files
I got it: Diffuse Overlay Weight did the job.
No, I found out something else:
The eye texture of Genesis 8 Female has 4 eye balls:
The upper 2 are for the sclera.
The 2 eyes below them are the for the irisses.
Now something crazy:
The pupils (that are normally black) are NOT black but kind of blue/grey.
That is some kind of an overlay color!!
If this texture is made black, the blood vessels will shine through fully!
I made the mistake of making this "hole" black. When I made it grey again, the blood vessels were less visible.
