Exclamation Points In My Smart Content

When is the exclamation issue going to be solved? I have a lot of them. I have uninstalled and reinstalled; updated the metadata and they are still there. I heard that it is a server error with the metadata. It is so annoying.

  • I assume you mean the ! in a frame (no thumbnail), or at bottom left (actual content fiel missing)? If you have a lot of them it's probably a local issue, not something that needs fixing in the application. Are you isntalling with DIM or Connect? Have you checked that your content paths match?

  • It is interesting that you mention the two install applications. I have DIM and when I purchase something, I go there to install. When I open the application DAZ 3D, I see the purchased products to be installed. I am assuming that this is connect? What is the way we are supposed to install? Is DIM an outdated app and we should install only through connect? My content directory is pointed to the correct path, but my connect library is a separate path and that path is pointed in the correct way for the connect according to the content manager.

  • The exclamation points in the frame (Thumbnail) seem to be in the "Lost and Found" whatever that is. I have posted another posting asking what LOst and Found is and how to get those files into the smart content.

  • Connect has advantages over DIM, and vice versa. Some content (for example, ExP expansions for the fourth generation Daz figures) must be installed through DIM, at least for now. Both methods (wheer available) should work.

Can you see your content if you go to the Content Library pane and look in Daz Studio Formats>the folder installed to?

  • Yes, they are there. They are also in the lost and found?

  • Lost and Found just means not categorised - having found the files in the Content Library you can categorise them (individually or the whole folder or folder tree) by right-click.

  • Thank You Richard.
