I am wanting to do some retro scenes of families etc in old time 50's 60's 70's etc decade times complete with the right cars and houses, streets as well as the proper clothing hair etc for characters and props etc. Can you get anything like this?

I suspect its unlikely there is anything like this for Daz or any other type of software like daz but its worth asking.

There is some 50's stuff that is plat club. Some clothing, hair, a drive in and some furniture. There is also a fair bit of furniture etc floating around that could easily be re-purposed for 50's. There is a little bit of 60's stuff floating around but not anything that I can think of that clearly stands out as 70's.

I'd say there should be plenty available, though you may need some time to go over all the available items.

For example; the clothing section in the shop has a specific historical genre, which lists items such as the casual 1950's for the Genesis model. Or what to think about "The Fonz" styled clothing which you can find here.

When looking at houses and such I'd also check out the fantasy genres. Now; although a lot of those items maybe a little more "medieval" styled you might easily get the right scenery out of it when using smaller sections (though, as always, your mileage may vary). But basically the same applies: check out the historical genre.

But another thing well worth remembering; when talking sceneries and such also keep in mind that although quite a bit has changed when looking at (bigger) cities; there are also plenty of environments where things are now almost the same as they were around the 70's or 60's. That is also something to keep in mind here; I could imagine that sometimes you may pull this off using 'modern' sceneries as well.

But in the end it all depends what you're aiming at.

Oh; and I'd definitely also check out sites such as ShareCG. You might even come across stuff which can be used free of charge.

Hope this can give you some ideas.

    Some immediate thoughts:

    BMX Bike
    Retro LP

There is also a great looking set, Kit Vintage Kitchen, which does apparently need some adjustments to work in DAZ, but if it is what you're looking for it may be worth the effort.

Interiors or exteriors, and what kind of locations? Most city sets, particularly inner city sets, are good to go from about the '20s or '30s on. If you can avoid the bland box "international style", and post-modern, there isn't much of anything to say when a shot was taken. so long as the cars and clothing (and hair) work.

The clothing is going to be the worst of it. There are loads of vintage car models out there.

Dreamland Models over on Rendo has a sale running at the moment (not a particularly major one). His movie sets are *extremely* well done, But as models go, they are fairly high-ticket items. He does cars as well.

Have you looked at Maclean's store http://www.daz3d.com/maclean-1?limit=60 for housing and such

Also Ness has a few, including this one, which although older, is still very representative of some locations in the UK today

I used the "1950 Sectional sofa" freebie from http://ockhamsbungalow.com/DreamVillage/ in the April Freebie Challenge - put it in the basement for a 1970s image. More importantly, that page has other props for 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s scenes.

His Route 66 offerings are good also.
