Can you adjust the backdrop?

I'm trying to add a backdrop that I think is slightly too large for the image, it still looks good overall but a bit stretched in the lower corners. Normally what I would do is to instead render the image as a png and add the background in photoshop but I always end up with ugly grey edges most notable around the hair and I don't seem to get that when just using a backdrop. So is there a way to adjust the size or position on backdrops?

Either adjust the render size to the backdrop image pixel dimensions or resize the image to match the render pixel dimensions.

I don't know if there is a way to adjust the backdrop in Daz Studio, but in Photoshop you can get rid of the grey edges by going to Layer >> Matting >> Remove Black Matte.

You could try the old fashioned method, create a plane in the background and apply a texture to it. You can also make the texture emisssive and adjust the brightness to where it looks realistic.

  • Yes. set image as backdrop, then click on image and select Layered Image Editor.

Applying the image to a plane will give you the most control over placement and size and stretching.
