Remaking 4th generation figures in genesis

I have some stories I would like to continue that were originally done using 4th generation figures (michael4, stephanie4, kids4). Rather than using those figures I would like to redo the figures using the genesis models, but I haven't been able to make them look quite right. I know how to use the same textures, but my question is: is there any fast and dirty way to redo the figures using genesis models and make them look exactly the same?

Generation X and the accompanying shapes package for the figures you want. That's fast 'n dirty.

Well...I need a walkthrough. I purchased generation x and loaded it. The documentation is a little unclear. If anyone has experience using this plug in I would appreciate a step by step, from loading the figure I want transferred all the way to where to find the figure I just made.

Not at home at this time, but there is a manual that does explain how to use Gen X. Most likely in the Readme or doc's directory. I will double check that once I'm home. Do you have the V4/M4 shapes? Those are an additional item that is needed with the Gen X plugin.

I've been using the manual, but it's just not clear to me. I have the V4/M4 shapes. I can get it so the morphs for stephanie for example are listed as options in the genesis actor tab, but what I don't get is how to directly transfer a v4 character with its morphs that have already been set to the genesis figure, unless I have to go body part by body part and individually dial them in in the actor tab but it seems like there should be a faster way of doing it.

I followed the video step by step. In the video when he transfers the figure a window pops up, he assigns a name and then the genesis figure is created. When I try to transfer the figure, that window doesn't pop up for me, and no figure is created. What am I doing wrong?

Are you getting any kind of error message such as "Figure not supported"?

No. I did finally struggle my way through copying a stephanie 4 figure. Next question: it doesn't seem to work for kids 4. I get the option of a "clone" which saves somewhere but I can't figure out where.
