Help! New FLUIDOS Product is erroring?

DrowElfMorwenDrowElfMorwen Posts: 538

First, I downloaded and installed this product (https://www.daz3d.com/fluidos-for-daz-studio) through DIM. Then an error message popped up when I try to do the scene:

The scene won't work, even after moving a .dll file I thought was causing the problem. Yes I downloaded and installed *everything* available, including the pop up I got for Microsoft Visual C++. I also restarted my computer after installing the Mic. Visual as the install requested.

Also, to clarify, if I hit that "install selected" button, nothing happens. At all.

  • they are saying don't use DIM do a manual download

I only have the free Carrara version but been following the threads out of interest

  • I had to install it manually from the DIM zip file.  DIM apparently installs the content but not the plugin.

  • Okay thank you, I will move everything over manually!

  • It didn't work, I'm afraid :( I even copied the whole thing to the DAZ Studio 4 folder, even though that's not where the rest of my content is.

I installed using DIM (started out installing by hand, but ran into trouble), so you can use DIM, except for as SickleYield said the plugin itself. Download using DIM, but install by hand from those files.

Did you enter the serial number? (Menu bar-> Help -> about installed plugins)

  • I would recommend posting in the official thread as the PA has been monitoring and answering questions there if you need any more assistance.

Are you sure you didn't miss the "Do you want to allow DIM Helper to make chnages" prompt? If you did the package for the plug-in would be in the Ready to install tab, saying Install Failed (soemtimes that can happen even if you do click the yes button, but not immediately).

  • I installed the 64bit, Content, and Tutorials from DIM and did not run into any problems. I did have to restart after DIM installed some things using my Visual Studio installer though.

  • I'm having trouble finding the tutorials for the plugin. I though they would be in the help menu in Daz.

    I am told

In the Help pane/browser (F1), on the left side, there is a sidebar. On the "Contents" page within that sidebar will be an entry labeled "Plugins" that can be expanded. Within that expanded entry will be an entry for the plugin in question. Clicking that entry will cause the product page for that plugin to be displayed on the right. Expanding that plugin's entry will reveal a child "Read Me" entry, which when clicked will cause the ReadMe for that plugin on the Documentation Center to be displayed on the right.

    oh correction

it has to use DIM but some are manually unzipping the zip

    as I said I don't have it

yes definitely post in that thread if you want help

  • I registered the serial number and am no longer getting the error. Thank you all. I don't buy plugins often so I forget you need to register it!
