LAMH Model & Decimator = crash

Hi,

I recently got me Deciamtor because my scene was becoming too large and no more handable in either the GPU or on the CPU.
My scene contains some G2M Chimp HD models with LAMH applied...

When I now try decimator on the hair-object of the cimp, decimator crashes (resp. goes into a mode where on Win10 the DAZ Studio main window disappears, only the progress is showing AND cpu consumption is around ~13% resp. 1 thread and memory drops to something like 500 MBs).
it unfortunately didn't recover even running for more then 10 hours...

Any idea what I'm doing wrong ?

Thanks & best regards,

Tow things come to mind, first off, by default LAMH doesn't use basic mesh, it uses renderman curves which could be causing then issue. try exporting as fibermesh and then saving as an OBJ which you can then reload and use decimator on it.

Now the second issue might be that the mesh is just to dense for decimator to load or work on properly. I have used it on a few really dense mesh models and it either took awhile of froze the machine.

Thnaks for this advise. I'll try exporting the mesh and see if this works..
