Is there a simple way to mirror poses that don't come with a mirrored version?

Richard has given good instruction on how to do it manually: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/1962701/#Comment_1962701

There's also a fantastic and fast one-click script from sharecg that does it - I'll post the link if I can find it. :)

Edit - Here it is: https://www.sharecg.com/v/76667/browse/8/Script/Updated-Daz-Studio-Posing-Scripts-now-for-G3F That comes with several fantastic scripts. I use "look at camera" and "mirror pose" nearly every day.

Thanks!  Do you happen to know if that script works on a Mac computer?

I use the same scripts. I have the Mirror Pose on my top Tool Bar so it is just a single click - I use it that often.

It should work with Daz Studio regardless of computer type, but I'm not sure as I don't know much about Mac. Sorry. It's free so you might as well try it. You can always delete it if it doesn't work. :)

Mirror Pose and Look at Camera both seem to work just fine with G8. I use them quite often and render mainly G8 these days.

  • DazStudio already comes with a very versatility mirror script that is called Symmetry shortcut Shift+Y.

Once I found it (I can't thinking of how I did pose figures without it) I use it all the time and it even works with rigged props. The usage is simple, pose the limb on one side, for example the leg, the shin to the foot, now select the upper bone the thight, press Shift+Y and in the Symmetry dialogue, if not already selected choose Node: Selected, Propagation: Recursive, Direction: (you have to choose the opposite side). The options for direction are Left To Right, Right To Left and Swap Left And Right. You can choose the prefered default settings in the Preferences register. The only downside is you always have to choose the Direction, would be great if the script detects if the currently selected node labeled "Left" or "Right" and automaticly choose to mirror it to the other side.

  • https://www.daz3d.com/da-cache-22-pose-set-for-scott-6 contains a mirror pose, It says it's for Gen2, but it seems to work on every figure I've tried it on.

YOu need translation checked as well so that the hip is properly mirrored.

Yeah, DA's dagger pose set has the same mirror pose in it as well.

Thanks for this. I have this pose set and never even noticed the script. Tried it and works like perfection on Latonya 8

Thanks, I'm going to download it and give it a try in the next couple days.  I'll post if it works on Mac or not.

Good news!  It does, in fact, work on a Mac.  This is probably the most useful freebie I have ever downloaded!

Symmetry is a function available in Daz Studio, you don't need anything else,  it mirrors poses in DS.
