Suddenly resources getting "file not there" error (Workaround found)

nautiwoodnautiwood Posts: 24

I suddenly started getting errors when trying to use about half of my products.  Everything from Genesis 2 figures to Iray shaders.  Same error stating the file does not exist.  I have confirmed the files are still there, but for some reason, Daz can't see them.  I even uninstalled a couple items, then reinstalled them, but no joy. What can I do to fix this? File is pic is of the error.

Thanks for any help.

  • How are you installing - Connect (within Daz Studio), Install Manager, or manually? If it's not Connect, if you right-click on the product (the folder in the Products list in the Content Library, or in the Products tab of Smart Content) is the option offered Install or Uninstall? Are you sure all your content directories are still correctly set?

I installed with both IM and Daz connect.  I have right-clicked and uninstalled, then instaled again, and it still says file does not exist.  Content directories still the same and about 3/4 of my resources still work.  I can right-click on it and browse to the directory listed, and there the files are.  Sent in a help ticket, but no respose from DAZ yet.

  • I finally uninstalled DAZ studio and removed the files for it, then downloaded and reinstalled it via IM.  Now, when I get the error, I can right-click the "missing" resource and uninstall it, then reinstall and the program finds it, though it is a pain in the neck, I can get it to work.
