I took a little time last night to do another render showing how the light, with its falloff, works pretty well for simulating bounce lighting. Only one advanced ambient light and one DS distant light were used.

Lol - That ol' Apartment 39 Furniture never looked so good! :D

Totally agree! This is going to be awesome. :) I love that render AoA. :)

Thanks everyone. And thanks for the art camera renders!

I feel I haven't been more active in the forums lately... I've just been working long hours to get everything dialed in for the companion item. Hopefully I'll start having more free time later this week.

    Thanks for all your support.

    Yes,

The light looks for certain settings in shaders like diffuse strength, ambient strength, index of refraction or if it uses the Garibaldi Hair shader. The light can then be set to do different things if I sees a surface which has one or all of those settings.

If you are making a custom surface shader it would be best to add a special illuminance loop with a category string. Although there are currently no surfaces shaders with __category checking illuminance, that I know of, I decided to include it into the light for future compatibility.

WOooooooooooowwwwww...future don't!!!! I need this light since one or two months ago. I work in a surface shader that reacting with __category parameter.

    Thanks all,

It is just a scheduling issue with the PA sale. They have a lot of things already organized and scheduled. It will likely be a week or two before the light comes out.

...got it. Been holding back funds for this and with the PC Power Up savings had enough left over to pick up some Parkside & West Park elements I've been missing.

Do you have a download in your product library?
It is missing in mine ... *meeep*

..haven't been able to check yet. Struggling with graininess that won't go away in a UE render no matter how high I push the sampling rate.

The DIM dowload button is there now.
BTW, what's up with this promo on the Store scroller? Looks like the image is for the Ambient Light, but that is definitely not a Wicked Date Night Texture.

"Harr! How's about a very wicked date night, me fine beauty?!"

That should be fixed later in the day when the little DAZ Pixies rise from their slumber and magically shoo off all the new buggies on the site. ;-)

I too was wondering where the manual download was, I found it under the Order History when I clicked the order. Bizarre I know because everything else has been found in the Product Library. Ah well, at least if anything else goes AWOL you will know where to look.

For a few terrifying moments I thought I was being forced to use the DIM! PHEW!!

    CHEERS!

    EDIT:

Oh rats! When you click the manual download button in the order, it takes you to the Product Library where there isn't a manual download!

    Ruh roh!

I think they are getting a bit confused about their release schedule. They seem to have released extra textures for the Wicked Date Night Dress before releasing the actual Dress that they are for! And the Mad Nurse costume has been out for a few days now but the Mad Doctor outfit is still just a placeholder in the documentation centre.

Here's one. I found the light easy to use. I didn't get this render as dark as I wanted. On the other hand I prefer brighter images. Probably why I rarely do 'night' scenes and it shows. Anyway.....

Momo twiddled a bit and thinking 'deep'ly.

No, not yet, I have filed a support ticket relating to the issue but have yet to hear anything back.

Hopefully there will still be one...

No Manual dl button yet for Advanced Ambient Light and even if you click on the DIM dl button it doesn't work. I will not use DIM.

I've never used it and don't want to either. Hopefully the lack of manual downloads for this item is an oversight and not a taste of things to come.
