Animated textures

is it possible to make animated textures that can be saved for another use?  Or ability to export it for back up purposes?

You can animate the parameters of materials with Casual's script Matanim

I believe there is also one focused on textures, but I have not used it yet. Matanim can allow Shader parameters to be animated.
