Custom figure rigging.(Resolved, Thank you)

I'm trying to rig and weight map a custom figure. What happens is...when I pose the figure Daz doesn't draw the movement until I let go of the mouse and then the figure snaps in place. I.E. now preview of the movement. The bounding box and bone preview correctly just not the geometry. Also sometimes the figure bend wierd and then when I let go of the mouse it snaps in place and looks fine. I had this before but I can remember what I did to fix it. Seems like there was some mis match in the figure nameing? I hope people can understand what I'm saying. Thanks for any help.

  • In the Draw Settings pane I think you will find Manipulation Binding iss et to optimised - try setting it to Full instead.

  • Oh. Good grief. Thanks a lot.

Had the same issue, and that fixed it for me too, thanks Richard.

But what I noticed along the way was that in the "Optimized" view, the bounding box for the hip bone was nowhere near the hip bone itself - and what is happening during manipulation of the parameters is that the mesh snaps to the hip bounding box ... FWIW / if it makes a difference, the skeleton was taken from a donor rig using the techniqe of Ghastlycomic in thread 4360761 "Transferrring a donor rig".

Is there any way to reset the hip bounding box to the hip bone? - because I also think this created multiple issues for me in weight mapping - where bits of the mesh would rush off to hyperspace (actually, now I've seen it, to the hip bounding box) as soon as a lttle bit of weight was added or subtracted. - Took me a long time to work around that issue!

    Cheers, Lx
