Is this product DSON-compatible? How would I know?

I'm interested in using this cool-looking product:
http://www.daz3d.com/bar-soomian
The things it requires (Genesis + Genesis Head Morphs + Genesis Four Arms I am guessing though it's not listed) are DSON-compatible. But nothing is said about this particular product.
In general, to work in Poser via DSON, doesn't the product have to have Poser CF files?
I know there is a way to search for DSON-compatible products, but I'm wondering if that search is just "has been tested" vs. "we haven't tested" or if it's really "if it isn't listed, it won't work".

The figure works, but the mats don't. You'd have to manually plug in all of the maps and such.
I used D3D's DSON script to load it since the character comes in DSF and not DUF (I was too lazy to convert them to DUF manually and then create PoserCFs). Loading it via the script also requires you to figure > conform on the tusks/antenna.
/edit
If you resave the mats in DS as DUF and then use the script to load them, the mats work fine.
Here's a link to Dimension 3D's DSON Loader script.
I'm wondering exactly what you're doing to get that to work, because I can't seem to get it to load.
Here is what I did:
1. New Poser document in Poser Pro 2014
2. Add a Genesis male
3. Add Four Arms and conform it to Genesis male
4. Run the D3D script and feed it data\DAZ 3D\Genesis\Base\Morphs\RawArt\Raw_Soomian\Raw_Soomian.dsf
Nothing seems to happen. I've tried it with:
1. Genesis selected
2. Four Arms selected
3. Nothing loaded in the scene at all
In my case, the runtime is D:\Poser Runtimes\Genesis\ but that is a working runtime in Poser (and loading a Genesis figure and Four Arms works fine).
I modified the D3D script (which is very simple) so it'd log the location, and it does say it's working with that file. Beyond that...nothing.
You never feed it anything from the \data folder, that is the DS equivalent of the Poser Geometry folder more or less. The soomian is found in your Daz library under Presets\Characters\RawArt\Raw_Soomian.
So, in your case, you'd load D:\Poser Runtimes\Genesis\Presets\Characters\RawArt\Raw_Soomian\Soomin_CHR.dsf
The DSON importer must be installed in order for D3D script to work.
Which version of the Genesis starter essentials and Poser companion files are you using? If you are importing dsf rather than duf files, the D3D script seems to prefer the previous version of Genesis essentials rather than the recent update.
They have dson importer installed as they can load Genesis and 4arms just fine.
Yes, that's right.
I just cannot figure how to import Bar Soomian. There are no Poser CF files for it, but someone showed above how to import it. Unfortunately, when I run the D3D script, nothing happens.
If you look at the D3D script, all it does is rename the file :-)
Is there some general procedure for creating one's own Poser CF files? I don't mind getting techy...
Anyone have other ideas on how to load this? Even with DSON importer/D3d script, it's not loading and it's not clear to me how I would massage this to get it into Poser.
One, to what Python folder did you install the D3D script to?
Does the D3D script show up in the scripts drop down from the main menu bar?
When you click on it, do you get the dialog box asking you to navigate the to dsf or duf file you want to load?
If the script is showing in the drop down, it's installed and Poser is seeing it. If the script is working, when you run it, the first thing you should get is dialog box asking you to locate the file you want to load. If you aren't getting one or both of these, the script isn't installed correctly and Poser isn't seeing.
If you get the dialog box, you should be able to navigate to the dsf file, select it and click ok to load it.
Another question, where are your Genesis Starter Essentials and Poser Companion Files for the Starter Essentials installed?
Is the morph you are trying to load installed to the same folders as the other two files?
Yes, that's right.

If you have DS installed it can create the PoserCF files.
So that's what I did. I tried several things:
- unzipped it to the Runtime I use for Genesis (D:\Poser Runtimes\Genesis). Navigated to D:\Poser Runtimes\Genesis\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis\Base\Morphs\RawArt\Raw_Soomian\Raw_Soomian.dsf. The D3D script briefly displayed a message (too fast to read, but the last word was "done") and then the Poser scene looked the same as before.
- used the DAZ3D installer to install it in its default path, which turned out to be: D:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library. Tried loading the same dsf from there...same result.
Again - I have no problem loading Genesis Male and Four Arms from the D:\Poser Runtimes\Genesis directory.
I think the info above answers that...if not, I can report whatever you'd like :-)
I just fired up DS and although I'm not very familiar with it, when I clicked on the CHR it loaded up fine.
I did buy and install the pre-reqs (Genesis Evolution Body Morph + Head Morphs), and installed it in both locations (once by unzipping it to my D:\Poser Runtimes\Genesis, and once by letting the DAZ installer put it in its default location).
For the record, I don't own Poser so cannot confirm this and from the descriptions above you may have tried this already, but the "data" folder of DAZ Studio is usually not a directory you load something from directly.

As others have pointed out, you do not load content from the data folder. You browse to the content folder instead.

Wow, I don't know how I missed that, but it did the trick. I think I looked there before but didn't mentally process that a CHR is a fulled configured character.
Sweet! Now I'll take a look at converting the MATs.
THANKS ALL!
