Genesis 3 UVs on Genesis 8 geo-shells and geo-grafted parts... nope?... how to? (map transfer!)

Genesis 3 UVs work fine for me on Genesis 8 (see https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-3-character-uvs-for-genesis-8-female ), but I have issues with geo-grafted parts.

The fact is that G3F UVs don't show up in the surface's UV set of the geo-grafted parts that are mapped using G8F's "Base Female" UV set, and this causes misplaced textures with G3F's mats.

I tried a geo-shell on the base G8F figure, but nope, same issue on the surfaces of the geo-grafted attachement, I don't see a work-around here.

Do You know any method to add the G3F UVs to the geo-grafted attachment, where applicable?

I don't think it's just a matter of "exposing" them, I guess they are simply not there for the attachement. sad

  • Well, I've just found a, literally, work-around does exist in the form of converting textures for the G8F Base Female UV set using the Map Transfer utility.

    With the G3F UV sets on G8F we just need to load the legacy mats with thier UV set, e.g. Sunny 7, and use the map transfer to generate new textures targeting the G8F base female set, then load these textures in the corresponding geo-grafted surfaces!

    Not what I was looking for, but it's the same for all practical purposes! cheeky
