There are no brows included with the characters. You need to purchase the hair package or the Mega-Bundle to have eyebrows.

Couldn't you use the ones from Toon Generation Family 2? Doesn't hair transfer from Gen 3 to Gen 8?

My first video clip made with Toon Generation 8 Male. Created in Unity.

I created a similar scene but using free GIS maps of the Matterhorn area, the 3DU Toon Generations 1 baby, and Unity. The fun part was getting a recognizable fascimile of the Matterhorn into Unity.

  • Here is one of my Halloween character, Spookie.

  • Another render of Spookie

Thanks for the comments. I have used Gaia in Unity and a couple of extensions to it.

Then I have clicked a couple of times and get such a terrain with water and trees.

It was pretty easy to import the character from Daz Studio (via FBX) to Unity 2018.2.7

and finally the mouth of such a character is not continuously open when animated.

It was a nightmare in the previous versions of the Unity.

I have bought Mega-Bundle, so I have already brows to Gen 8.

The message was mainly for Wonderland or any other people, who purchasing only the characters, but not the hair.

I have Gaia too, it's really useful. You can also import public government GIS data into it to use but when I did the creation of the scene with the Matterhorn it was in 2012 before Gaia was available. I downloaded from DEM data for the Matterhorn area and then converted it to a raw bitmap format that Unity supports. Once imported, I used the free Terrain Toolkit to create a splatmap to create a texture for the landscape. Then I used the free native Unity Terrain & Plant toolset to place trees on the imported terrain. I sort of cheated and changed the landscape so that the deepest valley was a glacier that melts at a lower altitude creating a lake. It was quite pretty. You can still download the free Terrain Toolkit in the Unity Asset store if you want to give another tool a whirl. Google for Government GIS that is free although I'm not sure if all the free enthusiast non-governmental sites that had gathered up that government data, repaired & enhanced it, and neatly indexed it are still available. There has unfortunately been a proliferation of 'shell web sites' with promise good things but never delivers those those for GIS hobby and every other hobby you might have interest in - they are just click bait sites meant to get ad viewers and worse. Also, you can export your Unity scene to DAZ Studio with Unity Technology's free FBX Exporter don't forget.  I've been meaning to look at creating a Matterhorn scene again as the Unity tools have been much improved from 2012 of course but I get distracted by too many things too easily.

    Ciao

Probably going to skip this then. I barely used the previous toons and I can wait till this goes on a bigger sale and get the bundle then. That’s crazy selling a character without brows. I know I can use other brows, probably even those of the previous generation, but I shouldn’t have to.

It's kind of ironic  to me, since lately I've been spending so much effort trying to remove existing brows from textures, even bought Zevo's 'Brow Remover' for this purpose.  (I want my brows to be on a conforming but separate object to the character's skin, so they are distinct and separate from the skin shader effects.)  But bear in mind you can put eyebrows on any blank texture, 'Skin Builder' can do this pretty easily, for example, so it may not be an insurmountable problem.  But I do agree with you that you shouldn't have to solve this yourself.

I've posted these in a different thread already, but since it's on topic, here's my latest experiments with getting an Anime cel-shader look in Carrara using a combination of Toon Pro and YaToon.

There is a Non-photorealistic Render (NPR) thread that covers comics, cartoons, and anything not meant to be realistic:

Great looking characters, Greycat. How did you manage to create such a vast amount of them?

First let me say that I use Genesis exclusively, because of the large amount of morphs I can use with Genesis. I start creating my characters by creating a base character. I can then merge my base character with any Gen 3, Gen 4, or Genesis character I have and the new character will retain the same toon characteristics as my base character.

    There's more  next male characters

Thanks for the Unity tips, nonesuch00.

I have found even easier way for creating terrains in Unity - TerraLand 3.

Below is the screenshot of the scene with TOR for Genesis 8 Male and the mountains created with the help of TerraLand 3.

That looks good. I might look into asset too when I re-do the Matterhorn. I want to create an 'ecological map' that has boundary conditions for various botanical species and then use a conceot similar to the Ultra Scatter product in the DAZ Store to 'randomly distribute' the plants to their ecological niches on the Matterhorn map. You probably saw such ecological boundary maps in your elementary school science classes. Can that product take such maps as overlays?

TerraLand 3 can accept data in many forms

  • i dont like the new toons very much, toons should be toons- realistic hair on toons is just a bit too creepy in the chucky category for me. i prefer the old sadie and sam stuff although i feel not enough artists get involved to really support the products coming out

Show us some renders, so it will be easier, to see what you like. I have purchased a lot of items, but have no time to showcase them all.

It could happen, that somebody looks here and get an idea for the future product.

They are so cute @Artini. Those two are on my wishlist. I love the background set too. If you don't mind saying, which set is it from?

I'm hoping get the chance to so a cartoon render over the next few days. I'll post it when it's done :-)

  • I wish the toon men and women looked as good as toon girl and boy.

Thanks a lot for the comments, Mollytabby and shawnmarms.

The floor prop and back screen, all together with their respective materials, are from Theory of Light by fabiana (at Renderosity).

Thank you @Artini, that is a lovely set and I've bookmarked it as a future purchase :-)

I've had a lot of fun today. Thank you @Artini for creating this thread :-)

I 'cartoonized' Fern for Genesis 8 Female and used her for the following two renders. The first is a straight render of her as a fairy and the second as a human using Visual Style Shaders.

Wow, great images, Mollytabby. I see, you have mastered the usage of Visual Style Shaders.

They are still on my todo list.

I don't know about mastering Visual Style Shaders, lol, but I do get a lot of fun out of using them. Most of renders are happy accidents and this was one of them smiley
