Hello friends, many sky backgrounds/props to choose from in store content. Primitive plane jpg sky backgrounds are not working for me, looks horrible, Lol !!!

Cannot choose between Millennium environment, Land of ice cold sun, which has skydome. Any experience with Flink's sky ? Can I do sunrise/sunset with any of these ? Thanx :-)

Hi Awesome! Hope you are doing great!!

I use a product a called Real Clouds 01 and there is also Real Clouds 02.

I am sharing two of my most recent renders to demostrate how the clouds appear.

The morphs are Erika and Tiffany from Thorne

    Hope this helps. Enjoy!

It depends how much you're willing to spend. For my part, I really love the backdrop which comes with the Merlin's The Church and I've used it in a lot of my renders. It provides a parallaxed woodland and a skydome alongside the actual Church model itself, which gives a nice depth to backgrounds. Of course, the Church itself is very nice too. As with anything though, you pay for the extra quality so it's more expensive than just buying a standalone backdrop, but I've used it and re-used it very often. It's just that good.

1: Load a primative spehere making sure you give the spehere and good number of sides and divisions (see image below)
2: Google search for sky dome maps https://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en&tab=mw#hl=en&q=free+skydome+textures. I would opt for images bigger than 6000X3000 which is at the bottom end of quality. Bigger the better
3: Select the sphere in DS and in the surfaces pane apply the map to the diffuse and ambient colour channels making sure the Ambient colour is white and at 100% strength. This is so any lighting will not effect the sky dome.

As it happens I'm working on some skies for skydomes at the moment. They will be released as a set of freebies and are 6000x3000 but I argee with Szark about that being the lower end of quality.

Problem is, the larger the render the longer it takes, and I'm using pretty high settings in Vue to create the images.

They are just skies, no scenery in the background, but hopefully I'll be uploading them to a website very soon. I will keep you informed.

    Take care,
    Barry.

The freebie skyball will be released this week. Just got a few things to do now, including some promo shots.

In the meantime here's a quick teaser of a sunrise sky.

The sky is a 360 degree image and will come with its own skyball, but will also work with any other, instructions for which are pending!

Here's the teaser. My skyball with texture, but everything on the ground is from WorldBase XT, found here http://www.daz3d.com/the-all-new-worldbase-xt-lushlands

Four fantastic skies!!! You have a storm, a sunset, blue skies- so easy to use and great lighting. It's pricey though. There's a bundle.

You can desaturate the sky if it's too bright, etc. Keep in mind I only spent a few minutes adjusting the lights so you could see a sample. Also note that one of the items (Easy Environments- The Rock) uses a skybox. If you haven't seen those, go to that product and click on the informational link- skyboxes are neat!!! (All Easy Environments use them.)

THIS IS ONLY A SPOT RENDER.

When I add the sphere, something very strange happens to the ground
