auto_adapted files missing

I had been working on a scene using an older prop (in .daz format). In the meantime I had some computer problems and had to reinstall all my document folders and files with a back up. When I went to open the scene again I received a message of missing files. When I looked in the auto_adapted folder only some of the required files were there. I thought maybe if I tried to save the prop again in another scene it would propagate the missing files. It didn't. I have tried to save the prop several times in new scenes but when the new scenes are opened the same missing file messages are received. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the prop. I can load the prop and everything is fine but as soon as I save it and try to re-open I get the missing file message. Essentially the prop is now garbage unless someone can point me to a fix! Oh and saving scenes with this prop is spotty at best now.

Auto_adapted files were generated when saving a scene with imported content (Poser or OBJ). The current versions of DS don't use them (they embed items that haven't yet been saved as assets in the scene file itself) and the files for .daz format were different from those for .duf even when DS was still using that system. If you know what the missing content was the best solution is probably to reimport it.
Well it looks like I have gotten around the problem.... I am using Stonemason's Urban Future 2. I have tried to use that prop (.daz format) now in several scenes but after a scene is saved and then re-opened I get the same call for the missing files. Most recently I uninstalled the prop and re-downloaded but every time I try to use the prop while it loads perfectly fine from the Product Library or from the DAZ3D library once it is saved - I get the calls for the missing auto-adapted files.
Anyway my fix was to use the Poser file not the .daz file. And so far I've been able to close and open a saved scene using the .pp2 file. Now I'll see if I can load it into the original scene....
