My Mouse Pointer Disappears

Mine does it in Version 4.11, but did not happen in my old 4.10. It has actually reappeared and started working again without me shutting down Daz. But only once I remember. I must have hit the right mouse button along with the left one at the same time maybe, or something weird like that on a certain spot of the screen. Who knows. It will usually go away though and stay gone until a restart of Daz resolves it. So...I keep this in mind when I am working in Daz because it happens so fast...swoosh...it is gone! Where, nobody knows, lol, and knowbody has figured out really how to get it back without closeing Daz. Maybe someone will figure it out, but I think I have gotten mine down to it happens whenever I hit both mouse buttons down together for a split second, and boom it is gone. For me that is.

  • I think I found a workaround, when my pointer vanishes if I move it to the default camera dropdown menu it reappears.

lordkhryton's workaroud also works for me. You need to follow the popups to see where your invisible cursor is currently positioned then when you are over the camera/view dropdown box, do a left click and the cursor should reappear. This is an easy workaround but having said that, it probably means the problem will go to the bottom of the devs "to do" list and stay there. It may take a very long time before the actual issue gets solved.

For me it usually happens when I accidentally hit the keyboard with my mouse whilst dragging with left click, so probably it is something like both left and right mouse buttons down and the mouse is moving; but it is difficult to reproduce. I use an Evoluent vertical mouse.

  • Okay, I've had this issue a few times. I'm not 100% sure, but it usually happens to me when I'm holding Right Mouse Button and I click Left mouse. I can never recall if I'm in the viewport or hovering over something specific when it happens. My mouse is just missing. I had usually saved and relaunched DAZ, but the last 4 times this happened I tried to navigate to the camera/viewport perspective dropdown and changed that and boom, my mouse is back. It can be tricky to find it without the mouse, but enough things highlight in the UI  that you can kind of make your way there.

This issue for me is caused when the left and right mouse buttons are depressed at the same time, usually accidently.

The work around of selecting the default camera in the drop down does indeed restore the mouse pointer to view.

A little trick to help you get to the camera drop down. Hit control S which will bring up the save file dialogue box. You can see the pointer there - drag that box over near the camera drop down. Now close the box and it should have you close to the camera drop down that a little wiggling makes it appear.

I hope that helps until we get this issue resolved.
